I’ve got to the stage where I’m bedbound the majority of the time now & hardly go out. I’ve been practicing #yoga every day for the last three years and I can genuinely say that it has made me a better person. It is the answer to positivity, to health, to kindness, to empathy and to happiness and has lead me to appreciate living in the moment which helped me immensely on my journey to rewire my brain to be more positive, by bringing in the patience I learnt on the mat. By learning how to start your day with positive intentions and incorporating daily gratitude and appreciation for the little things into your life, you can rewire your brain and permanently raise your levels of long-term happiness. Human beings operate on a 'hedonic treadmill' which means we generally stabilise at one level of #happiness , so yes things can make you happier but this is only a temporary boost, like clothes shopping or going out for dinner with your friends, you will do it, and then you’ll feel a boost of happiness but your happiness level will return to your general level again quite quickly... And so the search for happiness is seemingly never-ending. So how can we raise this level permanently? A study done by Robert Emmons and Robin Stern, called “Gratitude as a Psychotherapeutic Intervention” if anyone wants to do further reading, shows that expressing #gratitude is scientifically proven to make you happier. And it is something that you can incorporate very easily into your daily life, bringing awareness to your life, #mindfulness , and appreciating what you’re thankful for and why. So it’s about recognising and no longer ignoring the little things in your life that should be making you really happy but that you take for granted. Hi, ik ben Daphne, 15 jaar en woon in België. Ik heb nu ongeveer 2,5 jaar anorexia en een depressie, maar sinds kort is hier ook nog zelfbeschadiging bijgekomen. Ik ben in behandeling bij een psychotherapeut, maar daar ben ik de afgelopen tijd met serieuze tegenzin naartoe geweest. Industrialization has led us to believe that we are made up of tangible parts. And that if one part is destroyed then we are too. Science and most of worlds academia have yet to recognize the importance of soul and spirituality. So why wait for them. Why not start repairing our soul today. Why not focus on our inner being rather than searching it outside in medicines, people or escapist behaviors. Our basic needs to love, to be loved and moral support etc are not being met. Let's try to focus on what we want to fulfill them. Let's make a list on what we really want to be happy. Once we have that, then more paths open up. ❤️ Zora 🙏
