So I’ve been doing this thing lately where I fall asleep really early then wake up at the middle of the night (like now 😴) and can’t get back to sleep again until the early morning 😣. During those times I start to think about deep shit like life, my short and long term goals, how to get there, finances and budgeting etc. It’s obv not the best thing to help me get back to sleep again but it’s probably the only time I get to lay in the dark with my own thoughts. For this post, I wanted to share my short term fitness goals for the next few months so it’s written down. It all may seems a lot but I’m hoping I can make progress on them at least. In no particular order... . . 1. Lose another 5kg or more 2. Pick up running and do a 5k without resting (those that knows me knows I HATE running) 3. Learn to do a headstand in a month 4. Learn to do the splits (I’m not far off actually) 5. Learn to do pull ups 6. Conquering the smith machine and the squat rack. 7. Today’s session of Back and Bi’s was a good one and I honestly had a good pump🔥🦅 here’s what I was able to record and get. Focus on controlling and feeling the squeeze on every single rep to the best of your ability. Before I do my Back & Bi’s workout I deadlift, and today I hit a gooood PR on sumo deadlift which was totally unexpected and was not planned but I felt really good with my lifts and energy was up so I just had to I guess😂 I’ll put that vid together later and show you guys tomorrow but here’s from what I got from todays workout and put together. I didn’t record each workout but this will do hopefully and also this is my first time putting something like this together so bare with me! Workout Details ⚡️. 👇🏼 Exercise 1:💥 Lat Pull down - 4x 8-10 Exercise 2:💥 Cable Pullovers - 4x 10-12 Exercise 3: 💥 Wide Grip Pull-ups - 4x till failure Exercise 4: 💥 SUPERSET A. 🦅 With lats, it’s all about the angles🦅 • Follow 👉@bestwaytofitness Follow 👉@bestwaytofitness 🎥: @liam.cavanagh.fitness • 1️⃣ Wide Cable Lat Pulls - these are one of my all time favourite lat exercises because of the squeeze you get at the bottom of each rep and the niche angle you’re using which ensures stimulation for your lats 👌🏼 • 2️⃣ Underhand Cable Row - this is an exercise which I’ve used to help get a more defined lower lat, and like the first exercise I love the squeeze you get with each rep 🙌🏼 • 3️⃣ Underhand Lat Pull Down - here’s a great way to get a massive stretch on your lats with each rep, and a nice variation on the traditional lat pull down 💪🏼 • 4️⃣ Single Arm Bent Over Row - this is a classic but is often performed in a way which leaves much of it’s benefits untapped! I know I am wearing the same Jurassic Park t-shirt as my last photo. I have a horrible habit of living in the same clothes over and over again (they do get washed, I just grab them first) My natural state is full blown potato, and that is how I have been lately. Tomorrow is a serious “get your shit together” kind of day for me. Fall is one of my favorite times of year and I’m jumping the gun and starting to decorate early for it. Once that happens, you’ll see a whole new basic bitch before your eyes. (I promise though, you’ll see more creative content come once this happens. Anyone else need a day and some major changes to help inspire them?)
To continuously make progress in the gym, you have to make habits. There are going to be days where you feel like shit. There will be days where you don’t feel like getting out of bed, let alone work out. Those are the days you need to push forward and get in the gym anyways. Only you can make the changes needed to have a healthy lifestyle. It makes me so happy and confident, and I want to share that feeling with others! 2️⃣ Being a certified PT would provide another source of income, and potentially help me reach financial stability. I didn’t have a job for most of the summer—money was tight. It’s still tight even though I just recently got a job. I was able to do some side jobs, but they weren’t steady. 3️⃣ I am so tired of seeing trainers who don’t give the slightest f**k about their clients. Some of the trainers at my current gym have advanced programs for people that are clearly beginners. Not only that, but some of the trainers don’t even teach proper form. Sometimes I see their clients in pain, and that infuriates me. Proper training shouldn’t be painful; it should be fun. 4️⃣ I don’t see a whole lot of woc as PTs, so that needs to change ASAP. Day 7, Block 2: light lite air 63% comp squat was meh like it was pretty light but my pelvic just wasn’t tucking as it’s supposed to, thanks coach for pointing that out. I meant I kinda have Better form for heavy single because I enjoy heavy single than set of 5 and you know I need set of 5 to build a big heavy single but again I don’t like set of 5 😂🤯 bench was fkkking amazing yoooo. Me and @liljulivertt found that sweet spot for grip after like a bunch of attempts 😅 it’s a regular grip like I’m pretty sure a lot people grip their pinky on the ring. Yeet I have a little baby arch doo doo doo doo now hehe. ROM is so much less sexy but whatever works out and gets me a good total in October is all that matters. 8 weeks out. Deload next week. Can’t not wait for peak and heavy single 😋 one more thing, I also went to Top of the Podium for a wrestling practice, and I discovered that my cardio is actually... horrible 😖 that’s what happened when you don’t go to practice for 2 years and done almost zero cardiovascular activities for a freak.
