It's almost that time again...next months DoneInOne challenge will be..."Obstacle"! • In short, pick an obstacle (that is featured in any OCR) you can't do or want to improve on, work on it for the month of May (posting weekly video updates) and watch the improvements roll in. • Some potential examples: - Scale an 8ft wall unassisted - Climb a 5m rope in 8secs or less (currently 12s) - 2.5m flying monkey (currently 1.7m) • This will be the last DoneInOne challenge group I will organise as it was a short term experiment that lasted longer than I intended. I will now focus my time elsewhere and due to the way I set the group up, I felt more like the manager than a facilitator, and I had also hoped that members would have helped each other more on the technical side. That being said, the community motivation was very good and I thank all who contributed. • Thanks to the group environment, structure, focus and support, I personally managed to achieve many goals that would of been much more difficult to achieve on my own such as a 5s handstand, sub-20min 5km, rope pullup with 47.5 kg extra weight. • Things I have learned: - Social media is better suited to short 10s bursts of cosmetic 'inspiration' than legitimate, practical self-improvement. - Deadlines work, but generally, people don't like them. - Focusing on 1 thing at a time is essential to get shit (that you want to do) done. • Did you guys learn anything? • A big thanks to everyone that participated, with a special appreciation to Martin, Issa, Sheila, Amaury, Cath, and Christian for taking part in 2 or more challenges, Gabriela and Hilton for going the extra mile to motivate others and to Carolina for providing expert advice in the swimming group.
