We had a packed house last night discussing trauma in our community. July is minority mental health awareness month, get educated and spread the message of wellness and love in our community. Let’s heal our babies, ourselves & find healthy coping mechanisms to be our best selves. Thank you God for ordering my steps for this walk. #silencetheshame #mentalhealthawareness #wellness #selfcare #trauma
🦋 thank you again @atlgathers @spotonrw
and all our esteemed panelists
What an amazing conversation tonight surrounding emotional trauma and the connections to the cultural and socioeconomical issues that affect a lot of black and brown communities. I felt SO encouraged and inspired seeing myself represented in the panel and room of black psychologists, psychiatrists, licensed clinical social workers, and licensed professional counselors! Thank you @silencetheshame
for putting on a great event and continuing this important conversation!

We are your fathers, men, fiancés, husbands, brothers, uncles, cousins and friends.. It’s Minority Mental Health Month and I’ve been speaking for years about our mental health as a whole but more so the mental health of black men.. Our resources are limited but we need y’all like y’all need us.. We are more than just “Shut up and dribble/work”... #dontsufferinsilence #silencetheshame #blackmentoo
Your past is done. You can't change it, but you can make different choices moving forward if you want a different outcome.
You get to create a new beginning with each new choice. Let your new actions speak for who you are and what's really in your heart. Everybody has failed at something, unless you've never tried to do anything.
Consider these failures as opportunities to learn and grow. They help shape you into the person you are, but they do not define you.
Think about changing your mindset, to focus on the positive aspects and the things that you are able to change. Make a new plan, and keep on keeping on.
"It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see."
Swipe left!! ⬅️ Our young people were speaking these same facts on @iChoose2livemedia.
The question we asked them was, "Why do it for the gram?"
But why do the most period, on and off social media? Some of it is because you like nice things or just want to share, but other times, you're shining a light on your insecurities and lack of confidence in who you are.
is right though. It can become stressful and really impact your well being, if you're doing it to fit in, because that's not who you really are. You are enough without any extras. Believe that! Keep shining the way that you are. ☀️💎👑
