- One tool I lead with for my clients and myself is…SELF-COMPASSION. ⁃ It is a LOT easier to do your most important behaviors through a ViewMaster lens of Self-Compassion versus punishment. ⁃ BUT utilizing Self-Compassion…it’s a skill! ⁃ Like axe-throwing, knitting, and Hi-Li, you may not immediately be efficient with it. ⁃ Learning this skill is like making a money-fountain for your soul. ⁃ Instead of cash money, you self-generate resilience and guidelines for what works for you and why it works for you. ⁃ Flip the internal message away from “good vs. bad” fill-in-the-blank (food, diet, exercise, parenting etc), and bathe in awareness, experimentation, and aligning with YOUR values. - Allowing for some Self-Compassion shakes the etch-a-sketch of our perception a bit, shedding the heaviness of the almighty scale, family of origin food culture, society pressures and resets the self talk about how or why you are making a choice. ⁃ Are you present, and plugged, in and living along your values and priorities? ⁃ And if you veered away from them, soothing ourselves with compassion, human-ness, and gentle self-accountability to further discover your pathway to deep health. - TOOT TOOT, get on this wagon!
