🌍 Happy belated Earth Day! Then again, if every day is Earth Day, Happy Earth Day!
Our public lands are inarguably the best access points for all to experience the beauty of Mother Earth. And these experiences can inspire conservation—an active stewardship of our resilient but fragile world.
In our expansive little corner of Texas, we’re open 365 days a year in hopes that you’ll be inspired to conserve places like ours “for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations.”
Here’s what’s happening at our Far West Texas oasis. See you on the trail! ✌️💚🥾
Confession: One of my very real outdoor fears is 💦water💦. Mainly because I haven’t learned how to swim... YET. 👉🏽 I know that I’m not the only one that has that fear! A couple of the ways that I’ve been able to manage that fear is by 👉🏽 1. Wearing a life jacket during water activities. 2. Taking chances by participating in outdoor adventures like 🚣🏽♀️ kayaking! 3. Really listening & going thru safety sessions during aforementioned activities. 👉🏽 By paying attention and preparing ahead of time you reduce the risk of something happening in the water! 🙌🏽 .... and the most important thing for me this year will absolutely be taking 🏊🏽♀️swimming🏊🏽♀️ lessons for myself along with my kiddos! 🌊 #betteroutside #optoutside #nature #hiking #cave #tulum #quintanaroo #findyourwild #cenote #forceofnature #mexico #mexicotravel #seemexico
Wonderful Good Friday visit to Cedar Hill State Park! Trails were closed due to mud but the Penn Farm located in the park got me to my steps goal for the day. Blue Bonnets in Prairie Grass. One of only a few places you can see Prairie Grass.
Sprung has sprung! Oklahoma is looking as beautiful as ever! Does anyone know the name of these wildflowers?
If you find yourself consumed with a problem today or going through a transition in your life, wondering how something is going to work out, stop for a moment and lift your eyes. .

Since 2014, we’ve taken a stand against plastic packaging🚫 Our way around this bully has been to further develop our packaging program. We just finished our third round of edits for our new packaging. We made the change from burlap fabric to organic cotton that is 100% biodegradable. Here are useful ideas to reuse it:
• Organize gear in your rig
• Seperate clothes for packing
• Stuff it and use it as a pillow
• Reuse it as a grocery bag

19: Let me sneak you out for sunset during your reception. You'll be more relaxed. Plus, sunshine and wedding dresses are a match made in heaven.
Heading to Muleshoe Bend Recreation Area for REI’s Bike ETE (aka Experiential Training Event). Our cycling gear reps will be there to educate us on their products as well as the opportunity to use them in the field. There are a few bikes I’m really looking forward to riding 😳
It’s going to rain today (30% chance) with a 90% chance tomorrow. I’m just hoping it’s not raining when I set up the tent, much hate for that. But after that I could care less, plus I love riding in the rain.
Orange bag is all my camping gear and the black one contains my clothing (including my cycling gear). The green backpack holds my camera gear and will also double as my riding bag so I can use my water bladder and bring my camera along on the rides. Under the pack is the new REI soft sided cooler with the all important beer and snacks. Last but not least is my GoalZero Yeti 400 Lithium to keep all the electronics powered up for the next 4 days.
When I was framing the shot I started laughing because of all the REI products in the photo. FYI, there are 7 of them. Can you name them?
