I just want to take a minute. Sometimes you see yourself differently. Your body fluctuates daily, weekly, hourly depending on so many factors. I train at least 2 hours a day for 5 or 6 days, I eat healthy, whole foods, burn over 3000 calories every day and do everything considered "right" to get the "perfect self". But I don't have a sixpack or a cut figure and right now I don't feel lean, I feel different. The second photo is from last week, and I feel that it's completely different from how I look today. Because when you spend 16 years with a negative energy, these minor fluctuations of water weight, temperature, portion size, feel like a drastic change. Naturally I have no hourglass figure, naturally I have a stomach that goes in so my lower abdomen stands out more to me which I perceive as an imperfection. When it's not. It's literally my damn insides sitting there. I don't know if I'll ever truly understand self love or find a day where I don't care what other people think, which is the problem, I care too much about other people's opinions. But I know that tomorrow I could wake up and see something else. So don't let a day or a weeks worth of "I don't look like I did last week" ruin your self worth, because finding self appreciation is a long long road, but don't assume you're not good because you don't see "perfection". Basically life's too fuckin short, some days you feel good, some days you feel shit. So take both and just try remember that only you matter.

6 Tips To Shift Mindset To Weight Gain 💪🏻📈🥰⁠⠀ ♥︎⁠⠀ I've been in a surplus for a few months and putting on weight consistently since the start of July gaining just over 3kg and increasing total body circumference by 13 inches 👊🏻⁠⠀ ♥︎⁠⠀ When I post about this I always get messages asking for any tips on how to deal with it mentally from those who want to or are struggling with a similar goal. So here are my top 6 tips for overcoming fear of putting on weight: ⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ 1. Don't view it as a step away from improving your physique, it is all part of the same process. Putting on weight is part of improving your physique long term - it's all the same journey of an ongoing always changing end destination. 💁🏼‍♀️⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ 2. Don't view it as an excuse or reason to 'let yourself go'. Surplus cals doesn't give you free reign to eat whatever you want - doing it smartly (as opposed to using it as an excuse to eat lots of food as I used to!) ensures you make maximal muscle gain while keeping body fat gained to the least possible required. 👍🏻⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ 3. Know that you always have the option and choice to stop. Half the fear of weight gain is that you won't be able to get back to where you were before. With the right coaching. education or knowledge it becomes easy to know what works for you to get the physique you want. Once you realise you always have this option it makes it a lot less scary to do. 🤯⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ 4. Stop focusing on the areas of your body you don't like and instead focus on the areas you do. I love getting bigger glutes and legs. My least favourite area is my stomach so I just try not to dwell on that too much. 🍑⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ 5.Set different goals in the gym. I train much harder when I am in a surplus as I switch my goal to strength and aways finish a session feeling so much more empowered. 💪🏻⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ 6. And lastly embrace the process! I love watching my body change and find it fascinating to see how changes in stimulus changes my body. ✨⁠⠀ ♥︎⁠⠀ It goes without saying that valuing self worth on body image alone has to change too - but if you focus on the above and lean into the process, you’ll be fulfilled in so many more areas of your life than just training to burn cals. ✨

The way I look at my adeno-belly has changed immensely since my diagnosis but the sarcasm and surrealism of it all will never stop amazing me when I look down and see this. In the meantime I will use it and abuse it.
