Conclusion: 20 of anything sucks
At about rep 10, I wanted to quit. I was sick of chasing the geese off the track every lap. My body was telling me it was tired. I was telling my body we were only halfway there. With each passing lap, I had to use a new mental trick to get me through the next lap. Short recoveries really helped with thinking to much and just starting the next rep.
Insta, strava, garmin, whatever other app you use to track your friends, see the numbers, it all makes it look so easy. You read the numbers and see what they accomplished and make a quick decision on how it went and how well they did.
Everyone is working
It’s never easy for anyone
Keep pushing and the results will come
It’s been nice getting outside this vacation and relaxing in #thegreatoutdoors
🌲🐻💚 Short 3 miler to start the day 🏃🏻♀️
No running today except when we were watching a mama bear and her cubs... and then she took off running 😳🐻💩➡️🏃🏻♀️💨💨💨
I’ve still got ittttt 🔥🔥
I did my first track workout since probably March or even February, way back at the beginning of marathon training. I’ve been in a rut. I’m enjoying running just to run and however I feel like, but I’ve also been feeling bored and like I’m not working toward anything. Even if I don’t have a race I’m training for, I still want to get out there and test my fitness! And I definitely still have it. My splits weren’t as consistent as I like, but they were well below where I wanted to be, given that the feels like temp was 91 tonight!
Whoooo! I am so happy 😅😎 5 miles total 👍🏼

Ya’ll, birds are scary. 😬
I was just running along when I hear a loud squawky bird. I turn to see what the fuss is all about and I see a black bird coming towards me. Next thing I know, the bird is circling my head, trying to get closer while squawking really loud. I swat at it a few times, it lets off for a few seconds, and then it tries to get closer again. I swat at it again, pick up the pace and it finally leaves me alone. .
I’ve never had a bird try to get close like that before-it’s so weird, and scary at the same time. All, believe your friends when they say birds are scary and mean. 😝😳
Happy Monday, guys. Hope you have a great day. ♥️ .

Not sure what to make of this injury yet. Tried to run yesterday morning, and the pain was too sharp, so I stopped after about 20 steps. After some gentle walking, stretching, and ice I tried again late in the day and was able to run really slow miles on the tready. More ice.
This morning I again did some light stretching, and gave it a go. A little stiffness and pain to start, but then was able to run an easy 8 with minimal pain. So who knows? Going to prioritize rest, recovery pace, stretching and icing this week and see how things go. Hopefully this is all just a groin strain and will heal up soon.
Happy Monday, all. Let’s hope it’s a great week! 🤞🏻 .

Blaming the #cricketworldcup2019
for running late yesterday 😉 but what a run! When out not know what to expect after a long weekend and being a morning runner, although running late yesterday was so much better weatherwise, much cooler.
Had an enjoyable run in a comfortable Pace but with soar quads from Saturday's 60mile bike ride, which is perfect practice for #Outlaw2019
Total elevation in a city run was always going to be low so I hit some stairs a few times in @slkeene
style and went over #itchenbridge
4 times! A great quads burning sesh!!! And I got to see the sunset while on the bridge, as shown in picture.
Good strong run all round. 10miles ✔️

Nothing like a nice hangover run to remind you that drinking too many glasses of wine (I lost count) is not a good idea, when you don’t drink hardly as it is 🤷🏻♀️😂 .
It took me pretty much all day to convince myself to get out there. And I literally could have died several times 💀 but it was worth it 🥂 3.3 miles // 9:10 average pace. .

Marathon training week 2 completed.
23.5 miles done this week, only 4 runs done. Plan said 5 but other commitments meant I missed 1. Won’t lose sleep over it though.
New Parkrun Pb on Saturday which I’m well chuffed with, official time was 21:49, my 1st time under 22 mins. Today’s long run felt good, planned 90 minutes easy managed just over 10 miles. Only 4 runs on plan next week, culminating in a 1 hr 45 min long run on Sunday.

Yesterday's long ride was a beauty
60miles in the New Forest National Park. Great road conditions, hardly any cars (probably as I left at 7am!), beautiful weather but windy AF!!!!
Nice breakfast pit stop to meet the fam for a sausage and egg sandwich 👌 shame you can't have that during race day lol, although it's not in the rules!!
Last long ride before #outlawtriathlon
140.6 in two weeks. Bike check next Saturday to make sure it's all ready to go in the best condition.
Next: last long run this afternoon
