It's been a hard week for us. My beautiful old man boy has #osteosarcoma
which is bone cancer. This is apparently a very aggressive and rapid disease.
Our hearts are broken, but what makes this more difficult is that he's not showing any signs of weakness or pain. It all started with a mild/moderate limp that didn't go away after a few weeks, and then suddenly one day it got much worse. The very next day he went in for x-rays and we learned there is a lesion in his right shoulder.
Other than this fucking cancer, he's the perfect picture of health. He's turning 12 this summer and he still has the physique (and the blood panel) of a strong, young dog. Other than the grey face, you'd think he was just a youngin'. In fact, he gets it all the time from strangers who meet him at the park! Needless to say, we're still in the denial phase.
Chance is a strong boy and he's just oh so special. We are choosing not to go down the high-intense-treatment route. Instead, we want to do everything as naturally as possible while also keeping him happy and pain-free.
If you or anyone you know has been through this with their puppy, please know that suggestions are accepted and welcome. ♥️🐶🤞 #fuck #cancer #notmybaby #moobear #moo #chance #denverdog #pitbull #blacklab #senior #dog #loveofmylife #osteosarcomadog #dogsdontdeservecancer #beautiful #soul
