Let’s talk macros (IIFYM) and intuitive eating🤓 both most definitely have their role in healthy eating and living a balanced lifestyle. I’m not writing this to bash anything or anyone who chooses to follow these,I’m just speaking from personal experience and what works for ME. I was a religious macro counter for 3.5-4 years! I knew every single thing that went into my body and even weighed my lettuce bc those 5 calories really add up!!!! (Lol they don’t)🙄Following macros really worked for me until it didn’t. A year ago I don’t know if I would’ve had salmon for dinner because I had cheese in my salad and peanut butter twice before then and I didn’t want to go over my fat macros. I was more preoccupied with the calories in a food than how it would nourish my body — hello salmon is a superfood and fats are essential for your body!! I stopped letting these numbers rule my life and I started listening to my body a few months ago and I truly feel so in touch with what I’m actually craving. Like I said, macros have their place, but I knew I couldn’t live chained to myfitnesspal for the rest of my life. I could ramble on forever about this topic so let’s call this post 1 of many because I feel ready to open up more about how I got to this point! Cocoanut Red Pepper Fried Pollock🌞 -In a medium pan add 1 tablespoon of cocoanut oil and heat until melted -Add a pinch of red pepper flakes, 1/8 finely chopped white onion, a pinch of ground chia seed, a pinch of seaweed rice seasoning and 1 teaspoon of ground ginger to the cocoanut oil -Fry one thawed pollock fillet in pan (about 5 minutes each side if on high heat) -Place fillet on plate and top with remaining onion mix from pan, balsamic graze and dried bonito flakes ❣
