While doing a cut you should be lifting heavy weights. The old thinking of high reps , light weight is outdated and proven to not be advantageous to cutting weight aka getting toned.
Muscle is metabolically responsible for fat loss and continued fat loss as it is known that muscle burns more calories at rest... more muscle=potential for more calories burned.
You also can’t get a muscle more “cut” that only comes through having a good base of muscle and lower body fat %. This comes through smart food options, lifting weights and doing smart cardio (not endless cardio). Lastly when you are cutting you are most likely eating in a caloric deficit when means your energy levels will be lower and the ability to recover will decrease. This is why you want to do the most bang for you buck exercises, heavy compound movements like squats, bench press, pull ups etc that works a variety of muscles. Ditch the lateral raises , leg extensions etc and concentrate on those movements.
Here is a Sample leg day
Barbell hip thrusts 3-4 sets @ 3-5 reps
Barbell squats 4x4-6 reps-
Lunges 3x7-8 reps-
Barbell Romanian deadlifts 4x7-8 reps

Grieving my son is a like never before unimaginable vibe that just can't be fully explained, nor expressed. Talking about a deep reality check....a challenging process of acceptance. Aaahhh...I truly thankful & grateful that FAITH has always been a part of my life. Realizing instantly like a lost sheep who had been drifting from faith chose as my FREE WILL to seek, ask & call upon the SHEPHERD. Yessss indeed.. "the LORD is my SHEPHERD I shall not want". I prayed persistently & I still do daily. I cried out to the Lord. He heard & answered me. Now He continues to bless me & I will forever TRUST in Him until my last breath. His amazing grace is sufficient enough for me & made PERFECT for my weakness. For conditioning, lower-body strength and reduced muscle soreness, sand training can be highly effective. Because sand dissipates so much energy, there's a higher metabolic cost to training on this type of surface, which means it's easier to burn more calories and elevate one's heart rate. This translates to improved conditioning and fat loss. The soft surface of the sand also requires that our muscles produce greater amounts of force to move around while absorbing most of the ground forces that are exerted, reducing the total amount of stress on our muscles, joints and ligaments.
