This style of training raises the heart rate periodically followed by a period of brief rest that drops the heart rate.
In these short bouts of work, you’re going all out raising your heart rate levels as high as 170 BPM.
In your period of rest, you want to completely stop what you’re doing to drop the heart rate as low as possible.
Start with your working interval times matching your rest. As you get stronger you can increase your working time and keep your resting time the same.
In this circuit, I’m using a variety of different movements to train on all planes of motion (forward, back, lateral, up and down, etc...) With each exercise, I’m aiming to do as many reps as possible with explosive energy (ALL OUT).
The best part about this training method is you can get creative and do it from anywhere, even from the comfort of your own home. .
30 seconds on
30 seconds of rest.
After a few weeks you can up this to 35 seconds on and 30 seconds of rest and so on...
Set your timer for 10 minutes total to start if you are a beginner.
You can up this by 2 minutes every couple of days. Once you're comfortably at 20 minutes that’s when I recommend changing your interval times.
