I've done a bunch of fun stuff over the past week. If you're interested, I'm a prolific insta-story-poster, mostly about mum shit and napping. But with life highlights thrown in for good measure.
My 13yo, Lucas took this photo of me on Sunday. He is way more creative than he gives himself credit for. We went to RHS Wisley for the morning with my mum, as a Father's Day gift to my dad. She suffers with a rare form of Dementia called FTD and a few months ago moved into a care home, age 65. She's actually settled really well and my dad is now waaay more chilled, which is incredible tbh. But he still visits her every day. Since my move to Derbyshire fell through, it's given me a wonderful opportunity to support him more and a Sunday morning walk is a great way to do that. Plus I get to hang out with my mum. I've recently realised she just about knows who I am, which is cool.
If you've never been, Wisley is bloody amazing. A bit pricey, but you could easily spend the day here. They have all my favourite bits of the great outdoors; meadows and lakes and hidden gardens within gardens and waterfalls and a butterfly house and beautiful walkways leading to more amazing places and ducks hanging out in fountains. My kids love to explore all the different zones and watch the carp and play on the sculptures and roll down the hills and play endless games of hide and seek. But don't just take my word for it.
