This year is going to be the year of the Sunflower 🌻🌻🌻🌻 these volunteers are getting huge already. Yes some of them are not exactly where I would have planted them I'll make it work. On a different note I've noticed that a lot of plants are looking a little yellow, needing more nitrogen. With all of this rain nutrients have been washed away and they are just stressed out from so much wet, windy, cold weather. I actually think my pepper plants shrunk🤔 no seriously. Anyway I'll be adding compost and fish emulsion and the Sun is coming sooooo🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱 #sunflowers #volunteers #inmygarden #amazinggardeners #flowerpatch #cagrown #thehappygardeninglife #raisedonsunshine #howdoesyourgardengrow
You Plant The Seeds And God Gives The Increase:
Five years ago or so... I planted a piece of a peony bush that had broken off of my mom’s bush. For three years the twig grew but there were not any ants to pollinate the one lonely bud, so it never opened. Two years ago the first bloom appeared, it was beautiful and it is in my feed. The same flower bloomed for two years from one lonely stalk. This year the fifth year, there are two giant stalks both full of buds and there are plenty of ants in my wilderness to help them bloom.
Have faith in all things. Plant,🌱 water,💦 and watch our awesome and amazing God work! Your job is to plant, then to exercise FAITH!
As a child I remember how much I loved helping my mother plant flowers in our garden. She has always told me how gardening will add years to my life. Not sure how true that is but it definitely adds joy to being part of a beautiful creation. This week we have been planting various flowers and seeds that hubby brought home and my little ones have been enjoying the time outdoors gardening. It’s been exciting! So here we are just planting, getting our hands in the dirt. We may not know exactly how they will fully look, but we shall soon see the results of the heart we put in planting these beautiful flowers. Do you like to garden? How does your garden grow?
Tales From the Garden ... So here she stands, Flora in her brand new clothes, ready to watch over my little veggie patch during the long summer months. It has been a rather wonderful late Spring day here, and as I worked on snipping off her faded clothes, all I had for company was our resident robin hopping about and Bertie (our spaniel) padding out occasionally to see what I was up too. It’s so lovely to become utterly lost in a task; I was totally absorbed in stitching her new outfit, which I have to hand stitch onto her in situ. I rather like her new boxy blouse with its big wooden buttons and a straw hat replaces her Holly Hobbie bonnet of last year. She still has a wistful air about her, I confess to being rather fond of her. If you do the swipey thing you can see how she came together. Growing in the little raised beds are several rows of beetroot, carrots, broad beans, mini sweet corn, radish, spring onions, leeks, lettuce, French beans, peas and parsnips. Still to go in are sweet corn and butternut squash, but I have no idea where! A greenhouse full of tomatoes, cucumbers, courgettes and peppers means I am set for a good harvest, fingers crossed 🌿🌱🍃 🌿

I always dreamed of living in a place that I could go out with a shovel and a cart to pick all the wild flowers my heart desired. The variety of flowers we have growing in East Texas have me swooning. So here I am, picking wildflowers to transfer to my pollinator garden beds, before the sun sets.
April showers bring May flowers🙌🏻Every stem fresh and dried is from my garden🙏🏻You might think that with my allergies in full force I would stop bringing in flowers, but the pleasure must be worth the pain😉Did you know that gardening or simply the presence of plants:
1. Reduces stress and anxiety.
2. Is scientifically proven therapy. (As my 80 year old neighbor says, “You have problems- go dig in the dirt and see how your problems disappear.”
3. Increases concentration and focus by engaging with your surroundings.
4. Speeds up the healing process (yep, there’s actually a reason people send flowers to those who are ill, it is proven that flowers and ornamental plants reduce healing time.)
5. Increases environmental consciousness and helps us understand our connection with the earth.
