Beauty in the midst of pain.
Posted a long shot of the Woodbury 🔥 but really think the close up from near Silly Mountain gives this 40K acre better perspective, good news is that progress has been reported recently & currently no nearby areas are threatened.🤞
Moab has been bittersweet, I can’t deny it’s beauty but there is also a lot of pain here for me. I’ve felt a huge disconnect from all the things I love. I am currently working on myself and I know this is the place I am meant to be to heal and to reconnect. Allow yourself to be imperfect, we are all battling through something and it’s okay to own it for a little bit.✌🏼🌈💕
A bald eagle taking a break from watching it’s two newborn chicks.
This section of the Superstition Wilderness is now probably burning 😐 but I did read the firefighters will probably be able to save the Reavis Ranch area 🙌
Globemallow and the City Slickers cabin at Ghost Ranch. That’s right, this oft photographed and frequently filmed cabin was originally built for the movie City Slickers. Speaking as an art director for film myself, just because a seemingly historic structure turns out to have quite a different and shorter history than you might imagine doesn’t take away from the design, thought, and effort that went into making it. It is a rare thing when a movie set is left standing, I personally love visiting this one. Anyone else photographed this iconic set? 🧡
Usually by summer solstice, my mind is fixated squarely on some alpine backpacking. But there is still one last Utah desert river cranking away, and I’m struggling to motivate. Is it worth a weekend speed run? That lawn ain’t gonna mow itself.
