31 easy ways to be more eco-friendly
TRY TO MAKE YOUR OWN COMPOST🌱
Well, I've been quite a disaster for posting the last couple of weeks...all sick at home, then my phone broken, then family and friends visiting (that was the nicest thing this month:) Finally, I'm able to post my second last eco drawing/tip from last month... sorry for the delay...again!😅 Here it goes:
It requires very little work and the impact on the enviroment is huge! Composting is the nature´s way of recycling.
I found a very good article by Zion Lights in onegreenplanet.org, explaining why is so important and good for the planet, and therefore for your own plants and garden: “Everything you compost at home becomes a thriving habitat and nutritious fodder for an entire population of bacteria, bugs, worms, fungi and creepy crawlies, and what they leave behind becomes nourishing fodder for you plants. The amount of methane emitted through a well-managed compost heap at home? ZERO” because it reduces landfill waste, incineration and dependence on fossil fuels, and therefore it reduces emissions to the atmosphere. And home compost is high quality compost, always superior than any compost you can buy. Check online and you´ll find hundreds of articles, tutorials and tips about how to make home comspost. And if you can´t create your own compost what you can definitely do is to make sure that you put all your food and biodegradable waste into the brown bin so it can be treated to make compost, as I explained in my previous post.
It´s important to think that in the natural world there´s no such a thing as waste, everything has purpose and can be transformed or recycled to help new life grow. Humans are the only ones that create “waste”, so why not to try to reduce it and do something positive with it, help the natural cycle of life to keep moving in the healthier way possible, it will be good for the planet and that means for you too.
