Gårsdagens hygge ~ med tapas👭God lørdag🍃
Happy Saturday everyone! Thanks so much for making my first week on Instagram a great one!
My work as an artist can be very challenging sometimes, what you see as the final print may have taken days to achieve as my work relies solely on the sun ☺️ Something Shetland has very little of especially when the 6 months of darkness falls upon us. When the sun does decide to show its face it is cherished. As for my prints well I first have to go foraging for the botanicals I wish to use in my print, they will sit in a vase of water until the sun shows its face. The frustrating thing is Shetlands weather is very unpredictable☺️☺️ those flowers I spent the day looking for only have a short window to get printed before they wilt and die. The sun pokes through the clouds then it is a mad rush to drop everything and carefully compose my picture in a dark room as not to expose to UVA too early and no I do not just throw all on and hope for the best ☺️ It is a 50/50 chance they will turn out mainly due to placing the prints out and the sun bloody disappears!
But this is what I love about working with nature it is very unpredictable and you never know what you will produce until the rinsing begins. This is one of my prints done in July when the sun was happy to play, my summer meadow, hope you like it.xx
A closer look at the lily of the valley drawing. 🌷 What are your plans today? I’ve been up with a very energetic six month old since 5.30am so I’m just about ready for a nap. 😴 Enjoy your Saturday!
