💁🏻♀️ 💼 Oh look ma, I can rock real clothes too! 😜 lol The first time I went to a professional networking event, I was so afraid. It seemed like everyone knew at least someone, and I was the only next person who didn’t have anyone to talk to. There are those people out there who can walk into a room and own it; that’s never been me. I’ve always been a bit on the shyer side, unless I really get to know you.
I remember when I first started at a new middle school, my mom made me run for student body officer, which would mean I would have to talk to people I didn’t know and give a speech in front of the school. 😱 I think that experience traumatized me, and to this day I’ve always been kind of afraid to just walk up to someone and give them a sales pitch - which is what I’m supposed to do at these professional networking events for architecture.
I realized that a lot of people are probably like me; quiet and introverted when with strangers, but a lot more extraverted and outgoing when in the company of people you’re comfortable with, like your best friends and family. Lately I’ve been trying to channel that extraversion when with strangers.
A friend gave me the advice of making it a point to meet 2-3 new people at every event to practice coming out of my shell. I’m happy to say that I went to an event last night, did exactly that, and even managed to introduce my company in front of everyone without any of my limbs shaking… hey it’s a start right? LOL. Does anyone else’s heartbeat get quicker when having to present in front of others?
Anyways, someone came up to me and asked me how I’m so confident in front of people, and I just had to laugh because in reality I feel like I’m quite the opposite! But the moral of the story is that maybe our perception of others is completely different than how others see you; the person who looks like they own the room might actually be just as shy inside as I am!
If you can relate to this or have any tips on how to be more extraverted, leave them below. I would love to hear from you! #introvertproblems #introvert #fitgirls #shecandoboth #storytime #caligirlgetspersonal
I’m not sure when the realization that you’re an introvert really hits you. I remember taking the Myers-Briggs personality test in junior high school. I was an “I” then, but it didn’t really hit home with me.
I also remember my mom coming home from parent-teacher conferences and telling me that my French teacher wanted me to raise my hand more in class. 😳
I also remember thinking, I’m getting an A in this class.....Isn’t that enough? Why do I have to raise my hand?
I know now that that moment was definitely my shy, introverted self showing herself. And I understand her better now.

“We tiptoe through life hoping to safely make it to death” ~ unknown
Fear holds a lot of us back from doing some things we really wanna do.
Fear of being judged
Fear of not being good enough
Fear of being successful
Fear of “what will people say”
I mean it’s probably safe to say that we don’t do most things we WANT to do out of fear of other people’s opinions.
Isn’t that crazy?!?! Like we’d rather stay stuck, unhappy, and broke as opposed to actually saying “what the hell” and going for it.
When I started coaching I had all of that and more happen to me;
- You’re not gonna throw any your job for this are you?
- Do you’re little hobby but it’s a scam
- I’m not joining you, home workouts don’t work
—> then my own fear of not being good enough
—> my own fear of who the hell do I think I am
Fear is a tricky bitch isn’t it.
But we all have a voice, we all have a story to tell, we’ve all been through something that we learned from and could help guide someone else.
We’re all GREAT at something!! We just have to start believing in ourselves first, being willing to take that first step, learn & grow as you go. As we do that others will start believing in us too.
It’s OUR JOB to believe in ourselves first! Once we believe then others will too!
At the end of the day people will always have their opinions, but their opinions are based on their experiences not yours. So just because they failed to do what they wanted doesn’t mean it’s not going to work for you 😘🙌🏻
So why the hell not go for it?
I’m willing to bet some of your BEST memories & experiences all started out with you being scared shitless, you did it anyway and now it’s one of your best memories or better yet one of the best things you ever did up till now! Right??
Look I get it Coaching may not be for you, but how do you know? Don’t let it be the fear, or others people’s opinions that are holding you back from trying.
Just take the first step - reach out and let’s talk 😘😘
Today is your opportunity to build the tomorrow you want.
I’m dreaming big, working hard, and not losing sight on the vision I have for my family, because when you think about the big picture of your life it’s about being happy and surrounding yourself with the people you love. .
There are definitely days when I feel less than motivated, but I always go back to my “why”. I want to help and inspire others; whether that be on your health and fitness journey, or as a mom trying to do her best, or giving you the courage and inspiration to follow your heart and passion and not let fear stop you from trying. I want to be that girl. .
So go out there and create that life you love and enjoy because life is too short to look back and have regrets. When you believe in yourself, anything is possible.
