Wallahi Allah sends us signs all the time.
This is the verse of the day in the ‘Muslim pro ‘ app I use , and I don’t find it to be coincidence that the indication beep came and that it was this verse in particular today.
Islam is meant to be a religion for everyone. Every single person. It’s not just for the people that outwardly look pious. There’s so much judgement now adays but in reality Islam is for everyone. The first part of the verse is in reference to Muslim prayer; we pray in a particular direction , to face Mecca. This is a major part of our religion and yet Allah tells us that’s not true righteousness. Concerning ourselves with small aspects of religion like is nailpolish halal or whatever and condemning people for sinning differently than us is wrong in my humble opinion, and that’s what this verse is saying. Don’t obsess over the particulars and forget the core of the message.
If you want to know what Islam is about, this verse sums it up in my eyes. I think there’s a dichotomy where people feel you either have to be perfect or to be not religious and I hate that. It made me resistant to wearing hijab to be honest at first because I don’t want anyone thinking I’m more religious than them just because of one aspect.
The Quran says there are some benefits to alcohol , for example , but that there’s more harm. So why then do you look at someone who goes clubbing or drinks and has parties as lesser than ? That’s a problem in yourself, I assure you.
It’s something I’ve struggled with as a Muslim, trying to find where I fit. I want to be better always but if the cost is to be judgemental of others ... when you are not perfect yourself and never will be .,, then I’m sorry, I can’t.
Jesus used to eat with tax collectors and prostitutes. Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh) married divorcees and non Muslims.
I just feel like more people would be more interested in Islam if we as Muslims were more vocal about the core aspects of the faith. The Quran was revealed over a period of 23 years. The focus should be on the core of the religious , not the particulars if your interest is really dawah...
