Next Thursday on ExcursionsRadio, my guest will be drummer and composer Jonathan Pinson! We’ll hear music from his group Boom Clap and find out about what he loves in hip-hop and jazz! Tune in Thursday to KKJZ 88.1 FM at 10 pm! @jonathanpinson
M.DeathWish wrote and shared a few things with us that should have been posted and put to use MOONS ago…
The first was his take when Producer and Piano-man, Henry “Kamaal Williams” Wu landed in NYC with two KATALYST KATS' extended family helping to hold down for his U.S. tour.
I wasn't there - so I better let M.DeathWish tell it. ::
"The high-concept hybrid “Jazz” coming out of the UK these days has a very varied - yet easily noted - swagger, a certain something that is all at once truly unique to the London lads and their sub-groups [North, West and South London - Stand UP"].

HEAR HERE :: MARK de CLIVE-LOWE
SCENE SEEN :: HERITAGE I + II LIVE
The Genre-Travelling Mr. Mark de CLive-Lowe has - once again - come upon something altogether different and original; Perhaps some of the most personal and personalized [Personally Internalized] Jazz / Not-Jazz hybrid projects THE NONSEMBLE has ever heard!
There have been a nice hand-full and a half of performances presenting HERITAGE - a deeply personal Jazz travel into the history. heritage, songs, stories and vhildhood memories of traveling back and forth to visit with his Mother's motherland - Japan.
SAT.20.APR.2019 - Mark and his band will build it up a notch, performing pieces from both, the deep, post-modern Jazz of HERITAGE [Pt I] as well as playing pieces off on HERITAGE II - the Electonic Hybrid Jazz follow-up [both available on RopeADope records].
Along with the incredible musicians that played on the original live and studio recordings, Mark de Clive-Lowe and his band will be joined onstage by Dancers, Visuals and a vibe that HAS to be seen!
The pure Musicianship is more than ample, the look and feel of the show has been outstanding at every presentation of each iteration. This show at The ARATANI THEATRE in L.A.'s Little Tokyo district will bring the entire culture to one of the most beautiful [and most perfectly suited] venues in town!
THE NONSEMBLE is not AT ALL certain that there are tickets left.... all we can say is that if there are - YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS THIS SHOW!
Check out the Aratani Theatre site or any of Mark de Clive-Lowe's online portals for further info and ticketing options.
SEE YOU ALL THEN, THEN. LET'S BOOGIE!
