FOOD IS SO MUCH more than what is on the plate. There is taste, culture, social cues, seasonality, nutrition, sustainability, and so much more involved in what we actually eat and I am so excited to be involved with the @vamuseum new food exhibition; Food: Bigger than the Plate. *** This throwback is from one of the launch dinners with the curator of the exhibition, some other amazing foodies in the beautiful main hallway of the museum. @santiagolas cooked us a fantastic modern Mexican feast whilst @modalwines matched each course with natural wine. *** I was lucky enough to be seated opposite @fernandolaposse who provided the incredible centrepiece for the table and a huge panel for the exhibition. He shared a whole extra layer about the food describing how some of the ingredients were grown and processed and how they cooked by traditional communities in Mexico. *** I am thrilled to be speaking on a panel hosted by Henry Dimbleby (the co-founder of @leonrestaurants ) about the future of food at work next week at the V&A alongside @skyegyngell and exhibition sponsors @baxterstorey and @pwc_uk sustainability team. First stop in London: @liu_xiaomian authentic chongqing noodles 😍 found this place on Instagram and heard that they had been in the Chinese newspapers! The shop is hidden in the basement of a bar, perfect to grab a beer and enjoy with a nice hot bowl of noodles. Although @green._.sauce and I thought it could have been spicier, the flavor was great & it definitely satisfied my craving.

On Sunday I visited @lovechikn near Baker Street. They’ve just opened a new branch in Soho TODAY so I went to check out their menu! This is the ‘Gangnam Style’ chicken burger with Korean sauce, cheese, kimchi and hot sauce. It was great! I also tried the hot chicken tenders, fries and sesame/peanut butter cucumber. So good! RHUBARB,RASPBERRY & GINGER DOUGHNUT 🍩🌸💚 VEGAN🌱 Our vegan sourdough filled with a British rhubarb & raspberry compote, dipped in a warming ginger glaze, and finished with home-made Tongan vanilla bean crumble. LOCATION📍- @crosstowndoughnuts many stores round Central London and Markets! PRICE💰- Normally £3.95 each, however me and friend got two for £5. REVIEW✏️- Fab doughnut! ❤️- loved the dough itself was really fresh and doughy! Lots and lots of filling inside, bit too sweet for me, but great for sweet lovers! Strong in raspberry flavour. Topping was was lush with crunchy texture.Overall all great size and fresh doughnut (I’ll also do a review of the doughnut my friend had, as we split the doughnut in two, I preferred the other one!) 💔- couldn’t taste the rhubarb nor the ginger much unfortunately!
Wine found me at Vergelegen. Christo taught me to keep a journal of all the smells outside and inside- for my tasting notes and sensory vocabulary so to speak. I learnt the ins and outs of fine dining service, wine and food matching and imbided in wine at Vergelegen. My first love. The DNA Cab Franc. Set my standard real high real quick. Good juice. Throwback Thursday to the gorgeous interior of @silomthaibrasserie in Amsterdam.
