Dependent personality disorder is characterized by a pervasive fear that leads to “clinging behavior” and usually manifests itself by early adulthood. Dependent personality disorder is described as a pervasive and excessive need to be taken care of that leads to submissive and clinging behavior as well as fears of separation. This pattern begins by early adulthood and is present in a variety of contexts. The dependent personality disordered individual suffers from a neediness that is marked by an over reliance on others. His or her emotional and physical needs are dependent on the people closest. Treatment People with dependent personality disorder should consider psychotherapy for treatment. Cognitive-behavioral therapy focuses on maladaptive thinking patterns, the beliefs that underlie such thinking, and resolving symptoms or traits that are characteristic of the disorder—such as the inability to make important life decisions or the inability to initiate relationships. This disorder often requires long-term therapy or treatment. #StraightTalk #MentalHealth #mentalhealthawareness #PersonalityDisorders #DependentPersonalityDisorder #DPD

Inspired by nature... Both mother and human. Live your life, live the hell out of it! ......... The wandering life of the gypsy is calling Nomadic restlessness inhabits our feet Spirits of explorers whisper in our ears Tempting our souls with freedom Teasing mystery in the unknown. Oh to be free of this life and it’s tethers Illusions of permanence and the importance of things Letting go of “societies standards” Finding the luxury of new life creating. Living in nature, seeing the splendor Watching Her children in cool mountain meadows Admiring the beauty that blossoms in deserts Old growth forests hold wisdom of ages Deep fruitful valleys of wondrous knowledge Rivers flow with endless inspiration into lakes of imagination. Mother Nature is calling, singing, beckoning us to rediscover passions repressed With my soul mate we will travel the backroads to nowhere We will awaken and find ourselves somewhere new tomorrow. -LarBear 2019 Photo courtesy of @amirarainphotos #larbearswords #poetsofinstagram #writingcommunity #inspiredbynature #amirarainphotos #motherandorhumannature #mentalhealthawareness #poetrycommunity #imaginationbloomswithin #ptsdawareness #traumaawareness #childabuseawareness #newpoet #stopchildabuse #supportthechildren #ibelievesurvivors #hopedealer #poetryisnotdead #tumultuousrecollections #wordscanbemedicine #findyourmedicineanduseit #findyourmedicine #nomadlife #restlessfeet
As irrational conglomerates of flesh-embellished starstuff, we all have different politicians opining varying narratives in our minds. For example, one part of me really wants to take a nap right now, whilst another craves the power that the written word imbues me with. Still flummoxed by the Rubik's cube lying on my floor, a part of me feels goaded into pouring hours into lining up each maniacal, derisive square, while a different part would rather shrug it off and binge watch Tarantino films. ⠀ ⠀ These different parts of ourselves are perfectly normal, salubrious reactions to the buffet platters offered up by life. The squawking of politicians in our brains are not mere feelings - they render an assortment of beliefs, agendas, and mantles which represent who we are. They are complex constellations, galaxies, and Messier objects of thoughts feelings and credences. They help construct the overall ecosystem of our lives. ⠀ ⠀ Regardless of what's going on in our lives internally or externally, we are able to get along with ourselves better when we cultivate better intramural, emotional authority. Will the incessant hours of sofa-surfing serve Future Me and my goals, or does Future Me need one tiny habit a day to accumulate more wealth in terms of self-mastery? ⠀ ⠀ This doesn't mean totally forgoing nights out, Netflix, or Nutella crepes. It means thinking about your values, how they align with your actions, and noticing where incongruence occurs. It's getting curious as to why you do the things you do, and seeing if it's helping protect you or keep you safe. It's challenging your defence mechanisms to uncover buried treasure; to help Future You flourish and be thankful. This could look as simple as: ⠀ ⠀ 🌌Going for a walk when all you want to do is sleep. 🌌Taking a shower, despite severe 'Depression Nap' urges. 🌌Writing down 3 goals and 3 actions you want to focus on this week. ⠀ ⠀ The human brain forms a society; realms of consciousness, as layered as an onion - and sometimes, as much a tearjerker. If we find ways of managing and negotiating with our inner locus, we alleviate intense emotions, feelings of helplessness, and allow ourselves true equanimity.
MTW⚠️ • • • • I feel mentally terrible. My scars are healing, i’m such a fucking failure, I’m also finding everything so overwhelming at the minute. Doing basic ass things just seems to be taking up sooo much of the little energy I have. I’m sleeping better, in fact probably too much, but I like being asleep. It’s an escape. Apart from when I have horrific dreams that is. I have a doctors appt tomorrow and I don’t know what to do. I know she can’t do anything to help me, I know she’s given up on me herself. But I had such an attachment to her for so long and now it feels really weird not seeing her for 3 weeks now. If I cancel the appt it will probably hurt me emotionally, but I know there is nothing she can do. I’m probably going to cancel the appt, and I can already feel the tears coming when I say that lmao I suck. She can’t stop me from going ahead with any plans I have as well. The most she can do is refer me to crisis and they definitely do fuck all. I felt really fucking stupid this morning because the app I was talking about in my story asked me my morning set of questions today and I thought it would stop doing that after 14 days. But it hasn’t, it still wants to know how i’m doing. It still cares. I must sound like a fucking lunatic. I have a therapy appt tomorrow as well with B, which i’m dreading because I feel so fucking drained and when I’m feeling like this i’m not very cooperative in therapy and B notices and it can get very tense like she just wants me to talk but I can’t. My boyfriend wants us to try a new diet which i’m excited for because I’ve been wanting to restrict more for a while after I had that bad week of it a few weeks ago. It’s always so much easier to restrict when you’re on a “diet”. Still maintain that I will never engage in other ED behaviours, but i’m comfortable with restricting, fasting, exercising on an empty stomach. I’ve done it before so I can do it again for much longer. #mentalillnessrecovery #mentalhealthawareness
You don’t need to explain yourself to anyone. Do what feels right for you at all times and make no apologies 💞
something a lil different to acknowledge I’m not always just a super happy chick on a trail! sometimes these posts seem so superficial and I think it’s important to keep it real. I am not always happy, my life is messy, and I’ve struggled with my mental health a lot. But I’m in a better place now and my photos often reflect that. this one seemed like a good one to represent the other insecure, messy side of myself, which I’ve learned to embrace just as much as my happy self. here’s to embracing everything about oneself, craziness and all! . . . . . . . . . . . . #likeamountaingirl #choosemountains #optoutside #girlswhohike #womenwhohike #womenwhowander #womenwhoexplore #explorecolorado #shehikes #hikecolorado #coloradoinstagram #coloradohikes #adventurecolorado #coloradogirl #montainchicks #womenchoosemountains #sheexplores #mtnchicks #sheisthewild #womenofcolorado #coloradooutdoors #mentalhealthawareness #womenandmentalhealth #authenticwomen #keepitreal #womeninraw
A reminder for today! Growth in anything does not always look like constant progress. Growth in therapy is even more of a rollercoaster. 🎢 Some days we might feel like we’re making huge progress- others we might feel like we’re backsliding. It doesn’t mean we aren’t doing the work!
