I started keto six months ago and never lost weight or stuck to it long enough to succeed. My biggest issue was the macros and excuse to eat fat bombs and sweets because they fit. My cravings never left and I always kept binging on carbs. I recently took to it to quit tracking, even carbs, and stick to just meat, veggies, and fat! Im down 16 pounds, not craving sweets compulsively like ever, and I eat like a normal person now. For some sweeteners are fine, but for me, I ended up binge eating and or being so full of cravings for the high carb versions I would binge. Try no sweetener and just eating basics if you are struggling with Keto. The Power in the Pause ⏸⁣ ⁣ I came across this phrase in a wonderful parenting book I’m currently reading called “The Yes Brain”.⁣ ⁣ The more parenting books I read, the more I realize that the work to be done in parenting is the work we do on ourselves. ⁣ ⁣ For me, this has meant becoming more conscious in my reactions to my kid’s moods.⁣ ⁣ Man can they ever be triggering, anyone relate?! 😂⁣ ⁣ The tantrums, the being ungrateful on a very expensive trip, the moodiness when they’re hungry or tired.⁣ ⁣ My power as a parent comes when I take the opportunity to pause before I react. ⁣ ⁣ To be an observer of my own emotional reaction and choose to react differently, more consciously.⁣ ⁣ The pause gives me a choice. ⁣ ⁣ The choice to realize my kid’s are overstimulated, and hungry and probably just need a chance to wind down with a big hug and some understanding (which doesn’t mean giving into their demands!)⁣ ⁣ The pause gives me the opportunity to choose to be the parent I know will foster growth, resilience, and empathy in my children. ⁣ ⁣ I’m definitely not perfect 100% of the time, but we keep trying together as a family. ⁣ ⁣ And that’s all we can do as parents, keep trying and keep on loving ❤️⁣ ⁣ ⁣

Right now, you may feel as though you are a little disconnected. You may feel as though you’ve reached the limit to what you can do on your own. Now is not the time for independence, but for interdependence! This can take many forms. It could look like seeking help from a coach, a mentor or a counsellor. It could look like stepping into a community of gal pals, or embarking on a joint project, or volunteering with a group or or common venture. Whatever it is, know that you cannot do it alone, nor are you supposed to, and that the universe is bringing in all the best people to give you just the leg up that you need! The Sun in empathetic, sensitive, emotional and nurturing Cancer, together with the North Node (our Dharma) is opposing the Moon in practical, structured, hard-working and ambitious Capricorn. This is the balance of water and earth, emotions and firmness, the divine Mother and Father. The Sun is aligned with our North Node, our path and leading star as the Moon is aligned with our South Node, our karma. This is the time for us as individuals and as a collective to move society toward a more intuitive and nurturing path, leaving the cold and patriarchal paradigm. We cannot continue building societies without regarding the sacred feminine, Mother Earth, Yin and our rights to be nurtured. This is the time to awaken our awareness to the Sacred Feminine and to unite Yin and Yang. To me, this is exactly what the nodes are asking us to do right now.
