🌈Do you want to master your first Pull Ups/Chin ups⠀⠀
🤔Did you even know there is a difference?⠀⠀
These two bodyweight monsters are universally considered one of the best exercise variations for building muscle and increasing strength in the back and biceps⠀⠀
It’s also a common "test" exercise used to show you’re at a certain level of strength and physical condition ⠀⠀
There is nothing easy about either and can take months to master your first one⠀
The Pull Up/Chin Up are often interchanged as the same exercise when in fact they are very different. ⠀⠀
Pull Up uses a supinated/overhand grip/palms face you
Chin Up uses a pronated/underhand grip/palms face away from you⠀⠀
Another variation of the chin up is neutral grip with palms facing one another⠀
The muscles activated are similar in each of the movements; the small differences lie in the rate they’re activated and the mechanics needed to perform the exercise. ⠀⠀
However, chin ups have a stronger bicep component and pull ups have a strong latissimus dorsi component ⠀⠀
Chin Ups tend to be easier to perform but should not be thought of as inferior to the pull up⠀⠀
Pull Ups tend to be more difficult as your grip on the bar widens so keep your hands shoulder width apart for now⠀⠀
4️⃣Which one should you choose?⠀⠀
Of course, you can base it on preference as well. But incorporating both will be good for your overall strength and often chin-ups, once mastered can be used to then build up to the pull-up⠀⠀
5️⃣What exercises help my Lift Like A Boss Ladies conquer their first pull up or chin up?⠀⠀

🔹Eccentric pull up/chin ups (focus on the slowing down the lowering phase"⠀⠀

I think it's pretty safe to say that for many people their comfort zone is walking on a treadmill at 4.0 miles per hour- maybe even getting all sorts of crazy and raising the incline.
Some may be comfortable on the elliptical or walking around the gym- going from one machine to the next. Maybe stepping up their game and doing a class a few days a week.
Then after your workout you eat "healthy" or what you think is healthy. Maybe you lose a pound or two and then gain it back.
One thing I want you to think about- is your way working? If not... you need to step out of your comfort zone and do something DIFFERENT!
You know that old saying... Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Think about it because it's pure brilliance yet so many people continue to spin their wheels.
