Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald
I loved the first Fantastic Beasts movie, so I was really excited to see this one. I enjoyed it, but it felt like there was a little something missing that I can't quite put my finger on. Part of it may have been the difference in tone. The first movie was pretty light and whimsical, but this one was darker. As always, I love the shy, sweet Newt, who hasn't met a creature he can't love and tame. It was also fun to get some backstory on some characters that we already know and see the younger versions of a few (like Dumbledore), but at the same time, some of the character motivations seemed a little murky and the connections were a bit confusing at times. But hey, it's part of the Harry Potter world, which I love, so I'm not complaining too much and I still look forward to seeing what happens in the next movie.
