Sophie cried during our entire training session today 😭 That was until she walked out the door in Mum’s arms and gave me a smile! Cheeky monkey 🐒 Chloe amused herself with workout equipment, toys and food. And, Kylie still had to workout, baby in arms, for the whole session. We like to call it ‘leg day’ 🏋️♀️ Lots of squats, and lots of lunges, with some standing core work, and a 7kg weight in arms. Each day is different and training with your kids around can sometimes be tricky. Lucky I don’t mind, I’ll modify your session to suit, and I know hundreds of exercise alternatives. We will always workout ❤️

Training while pregnant has many benefits , they include

And last .... “Labour Fit” , recently we have been focusing more on exercises to strengthen her pelvic floor muscles , increasing strength in her Glutes, hamstrings , quads and calf muscles in preparation of birth , along with back and biceps for post birth when lifting occurs, having to hold bubs for a period of time can leave our arms feeling dead and heavy . Being fit for labour certainly does help, you can hold in positions a lot longer , you have built up endurance (just like if you run a marathon , which labour bloody feels like that at the end 😂) aiding in a 12 + hour labour , helping you bring it home.
Training in pregnancy is not about breaking PBS , smashing hiit workouts , it’s about moving the body , get the blood circulating.

When your clients become the best instructors!! "I was looking for any kind of classes around Cairns that would allow me to bring my little cherub with me. I hated leaving him in a creche and like most mums was a little anxious about having to leave my baby with a total stranger while I went to the gym.
I tried baby yoga, which I enjoyed especially the lying down at the end part, but once he started to crawl around I wasn't keen anymore as he was starting to climb on other babies and get into mischief!
I tried mumbalates - a pilates class where I envisioned using our children, bonding and moving together. I was a bit let down as we just had to make sure once again our little ones stayed out the way while we exercised 🤷♀️ THEN - TADAAA!!! I discovered Philippa and Nurtured Fitness! I walked in to the class and was straight away put at ease as I was greeted warmly, was able to breastfeed my child before class and I felt genuinely looked after as Philippa checked my separation and I thought "Gee, this chick knows what she's doing!" I instantly fell in love with the class - the dancing, the laughing and the sweating - oh, the sweating! I never knew working out with bubs in tow could be so easy and FUN!! I bought a Manduca the very next day and haven't looked back!
Naturally, with my Zumba instructing back ground I fell into step straight away, but the great thing I found was ALL mothers could do it. You just strap that baby on, watch the instructor and listen to the groovy music, and before you know it, you're on your way! I knew as soon as I had my second child I would be back and I was within 6weeks post birth!! Thank you Philippa for all that you have done over these past 6 years and for what you continue to do for our motherly community! We love the tribe you have nurtured and we Love you

This mornings workout was bloody intense! But man I loved it. I feel like I'm doing something to get myself in shape. Trying to make the best me I can. It's been so good for my mental health knowing I have this each week to look forward to.

There can be the urgency to quickly lose weight and get results instantly. Reality is you need to put in the effort be patient and gradually progress in your fitness and strength. Make your health and fitness a lifestyle and constantly set and reset goals. This will help keep you motivated, consistent and dedicated.
