We love helping our patients in treating everything from wrist pain, to ankle pain, to anything and everything in between. But we don’t just help you out while you’re in the office! When you come into Well Set, we love to give you exercises that you can do at home or in the gym that will both speed up your progress, as well as helping to keep you on the path to perfect health for years to come. 👍 Interested in learning about some exercises that will help you to improve your issue specifically? Just ask you practitioner next time you’re in the office and we’ll teach you what you need to know!
“How long of a massage should I book?” .
It depends on what you want to get out of your session, or if you know what you want. In general, I think 90 minutes is a good place to start if you’re not sure. It gives me enough time to properly assess what is going on with your body and give you some therapeutic benefit. .
If you have a specific reason for coming in, sometimes 60 minutes is all we’ll need. If you just want some work on that old rotator cuff injury, or you woke up with a “crick in the neck”, a 60 minute session is good for focused work on one area of the body. If you’d like to get some relief from carpal tunnel syndrome or TMJ but you’d also like a good relaxation/circulatory full body massage, definitely go for the 90. .
For more complicated issues, or widespread pain/discomfort, we’ll need to do some exploring. “I threw my back out” doesn’t always have the same, straight forward solution. If you’ve been suffering with chronic pain or are having issues in multiple areas of your body, a two hour massage may be in order. .
Every therapist works a little differently so I can only speak for myself. 60 minutes is not enough time to get in a full body massage of the kind of deep, therapeutic work I specialize in. I’m always happy to discuss your needs over the phone before you book to make sure you get what you desire out of our time together. 🙏🏼

Myofascial release stretches are designed to relieve soreness, trigger point areas that alleviate pain, improve circulation or tight areas in the body. Great for runners, long periods of sitting or standing, previous injuries, back pain, tension or relief from workout soreness. Also great for Prenatal or post rehabilitation from an injury.
“Sometimes, it is necessary to sit in peace and quiet just so you can hear yourself think. Slow it down. Take a breath. Escape, so you can find yourself again. Draw clarity and strength from serenity and calm. Connect with yourself. Ground and center. Ask for guidance from the divine. Spend time with your spirituality.” Art by #MarioSanchez

In preparation for some of our upcoming classes, we are doing a mini-series sharing the experiences of past MMI students. This post is from Katherine Hofmann, ND @hofmannaturopathic
“Michael’s craniosacral series was clear and comprehensive, with great review of anatomy and the perfect amount of in-class practice with supportive feedback...the [cranialsacral] series gave me something I did not expect: a re-igniting of my curiosity and wonder about the human body. Can not recommend his classes highly enough!”⠀⠀
You can sign up for our classes by following the link in our bio or going to our website at movingmountaininstitute.com. Upcoming classes include: Myofascial Release for the Thoracolumbar Fascia (September 28th), Cranialsacral I (October 12-13th), & Myofascial Release for the Psoas-QL-Diaphragm complex (October 26th).⠀⠀
If you’re a past MMI student and would like to share an experience shoot us a PM. We love hearing from past students! We’re all learning together. ⠀⠀
