Sacred places are the truest definitions of the earth; they stand for the earth immediately and forever; they are its flags and shields. If you would know the earth for what it really is, learn it through its sacred places. At Devil’s Tower or Canyon de Chelly or the Cahokia Mounds, you touch the pulse of the living planet; you feel its breath upon you. You become one with a spirit that pervades geologic time and space.”

Before entering the canyon @andrew7sealy
& I were blessed by a #Navajo #nativeamerican
medicine man. These blessings often take days but he gave us the short and sweet version of his prayer in native tongue.
Growing up my grandmother always talked about Native Americans and the ancestors. Being in this canyon, receiving blessings from the medicine man and being connected to nature in this majestic location really pulled my heart strings and tears streamed down. I got a little emotional because it’s something she really would have loved to experience.... even though she’s in Dominican Republic she was with me in that moment and I mentally recorded the experience to share it with her. 🌵 🦅 .
