A Silent Voice review (Part 3)
Flash forward Ishida is now a young adult in high school. He’s alone no friends wants to die. As a final act he wants to talk to Nishimiya as in a full conversation. But encountering her for the first time in years makes him not want to die anymore. Their encounter was a lovely scene with him chasing her down and it shows how much more developed he is. Ishida learned sign language so he would be able to speak with Nishimiya and like man that’s pretty cool on his part. Bruh I know his mom dead ass accidentally burnt 1.5 million that he worked hard for, at that time I had the biggest “tf” face their was. An amazing aspect of the movie is how Ishida perceives people with a blue x over their face if he is not friendly with them or knows they don’t care. He has become truly isolated by doing this and blocking out what he hears, he also always looks down while talking to a classmate looking at their feet or legs not making eye contact. When the “little boy” showed up I knew that he was not a boy and in fact was a she all along, they didn’t fool me. I love the way Yuzuru stood up for her sister by questioning Ishida cause she knows he’s quite a peculiar chap. The fucking friend of Ishida, Nagatsuka was great I was really glad to see Ishida making a friend again and the way they had the blue x drift off his face was brilliant, showcasing how Nagatsuka was now apart of Ishida’s life. HOLY SHIT! Get this I was just thinking about it, when Nishimiya jumps into the water to fetch her notebook and Ishida tries to stop her by catching her but fails. That really foreshadows the later event during the fireworks, just another reason to show how brilliant this movie was.
