It's the first thing we Do, question what this behaviour means to us. . 'They're avoiding us, how does that make us feel? This doesn't feel comfortable'. . We can then take this situation badly & then our actions become, a reaction to how we are feeling & not really about the real situation. . 'Well I'm not making time for them either'. . Before you know it the friendship is under strain. Trust is gone & what for? Because they're not trustworthy? Or because all this feels uncomfortable? Because we're assuming it's about us. Plus these feelings, the uncertainty, the sadness can bring you anxiety, thoughts going around & around your mind & you don't actually really KNOW they're avoiding you. Did it need to be like this? Could you feel differently? . In all situations it serves you well to know that emotions pass, they're not facts. . Ever been in a situation, reacted from your emotions on the spot & then a day or two or even more felt differently? Of course you have, we all have. Then you've changed your mind, now your able to think clearly with less emotion & more clarity. . When you find yourself thinking that you're MAYBE being avoided. Try. Noticing that you are reacting on your emotions Take a step back Breathe Tell yourself 'I don't have to react now, wait, wait & see' Try not to assume you know why Hold some space for them Use this time to speak kindly to yourself & also that if you were struggling, you may act like you're avoiding too but you would just need some time. . *Off course there is always the chance that someone may be avoiding you.
