Assessing posture is so important to get an understanding of what your client needs from their massage treatment.
Here you see me testing for any rotation in my clients hip and/or spine.
Rotation can be a cause of multiple different things, whether it comes from sport, being one side dominant, having scoliosis, a shorter leg, surgery, injury and compensation, getting in and out of the driver side of the car, checking blind spots etc.
More often then not I see many clients, including myself, have a rotation.
My hip rotation is slightly to the right due to being right leg dominant in soccer, leaning into clients with my right arm dominance, getting in and out of the driver seat of my car every day etc.
I have ways to realign myself, and if you know which muscles to stretch, release and strengthen to reset your posture in neutral alignment, you can avoid SIJ dysfunctions, sciatica, swayed spine, lower back pain and a whole lot of other discomforts that can occur from leaving yourself out of alignment for too long.
If you are a therapist and want to know what and how to get the best results from your treatments in realigning clients, please contact me.
If you are a potential client who is suffering from any muscular discomforts... it's probably because you are out of alignment... and you should come and see me too. This way I will be able to set out a treatment plan to solve problem.
