It was fun Wisconsin, ended the season with a bang! Maybe next season won’t go by so fast.. #publicland
Day 75: 741.1 miles out of 2,192
I haven't taken a shower in 7 days and I can really feel it. Yesterday my diet consisted of donuts, a big bag of chips, and 2 chewable vitamins. My legs and arms are covered in bug bites that I can't avoid itching at night.
33.333333% of my walk from Georgia to Maine is now complete. I've been squeezing in night hikes until 2 AM to avoid the brutal Virginia heat. The hot nights create dry lightening and thunderstorms while I walk through the dark forests with only my headlamp guiding me.
Whoever says, "Virginia is flat" is lying to you. The elevation becomes more gradual, but the ridges and rock ledges rule the entire state. I'm excited to enter the Shenendoah National park next week! ⛰️🇺🇸
Walnut Canyon. I've wanted to go there for years. At first I was a little disappointed in the restrictions. You need to stay on the trails but I do get it. It's a a special place! And, there is another 20 miles of canyon above the National Monument that's protected but more open for exploration. Over all, the Rangers and the experience was fantastic. Our national parks and forest are treasures. Hope we can weather the current attack. As for Walnut Canyon, I still have a lot to see there. #walnutcanyon #nationalparks #publicland #nationalmonument #optoutside #hiking
