Felt inspired by @corvidaecosplay
with a little review of my #cosplay
submissions for @emeraldcitycomiccon
the last few years. It’s crazy to realize I’ve been on that stage since 2014 before the western championship even began! The last time I placed was 2015 with #marasov
in the seamstress category. It was so wild and super surreal. I’ve always dreamed of having one more medal under my belt from there but maybe my time is up?
So 2019: I submitted Mara Sov and did not get in and instead competed with her at #c2e2
which to me was a blessing in disguise. I def was not 75% done when I submitted her so there’s that haha
2018: my #warlock
walked across the stage and lit up the back stage area. I was also def not 75% done but I made it in and finished it in time with help from my mom and friends. I love that cosplay so much and it later took best in show at #rccc2018
which was also not 75% done haha I see a trend. I had a blast on stage and did not place but I got some sweet pics from it. She has been since improved!
in her pre spark form. My mother helped me do about 60 hours of hand embroidery on the white of the jacket. That is the difference between the two pics. This was the first time I created my own circuits and learned the hard way that you can kill one cell of a multiple cell battery and I was without smoke on the stage which made me sad. But I learned something from that experience! Plus my friends were the top 3 so that was rad.
2015: There wasn’t really a formal submission process like today but I got in and met some lifelong friends like @ladydamedesigns
I also placed 3rd in tailoring which was wild! It was the first bodysuit I ever made and I hand drafted the pattern with @kites
2014: my first armor build. Me as little baby Chandra haha. I lost a piece of my shoe on the way to pre judging but was able to retrieve it. I had no clue what to do on stage but had fun!
had come a long way folks! I’d love one more medal but we will see. The future may have other plans for me =) What’s been your favorite contest to watch or participate in? #destiny2forsaken #eccccosplay #eccc2019 #destinycosplay #mtgcosplay
