Tinnitus sufferers have constant ringing in their ears and silence is often quite unbearable. There are strategies to help override the constant ringing which is more obvious at night. Some of these include: - playing soft music - Turning on a fan and listening to the hum - Practising meditation and focusing on the breath In addition there is some medical evidence to suggest those with tinnitus May have low zinc levels so consider supplementing with zinc or consuming more zinc in your diet. Foods highest in zinc include oysters, liver and sesame seeds. Tahini is a great source of zinc. For those of us who don’t suffer from tinnitus, take the advice above and cherish your silence. #tinnitus #ears #soundtherapy #silence #zinc #meditation #music #breath #nutrition #foodasmedicine #frustrations #medicalresearch #supplements #goingcrazy #peace #overcomingobstacles #recoveryispossible

Yesterdays FDOE🤷🏻‍♀️☺️ brekkie was a strawberry cauliflower smoothie bowl with puffed wheat, a breakfast taco, and hot sauce. Snack was hot angel food cake with berries and a latte, lunch was a kids turkey sub with cream cheese and a turkey salad with hot sauce and Mediterranean dressing (!!!) snack was a coffee oatmeal and dinner was a homemade seafood curry and salad with chips, it was my parents anniversary and when they went out to dinner I knew if I was alone I wouldn’t finish, no matter how good the curry was. I packed up that night becuase I have a history of doing dumb behaviours when I’m lonely and bored, and I ate over at the neighbors then hung out with them for the night ☺️ came home and had some yogurt and cereal for a snack. It was my parents 25 year anniversary and I’m so happy the both of them got a night out together. It takes a lot to stick together these days I’ve noticed and I’m thankful they have. I feel discomfort with going over the minimum in my plan, though I’m going to need to to gain weight. For now I’m still pushing to meet it sometimes, but it will get easier in time. I’ve had quite some winds along the way, as in no more sweetners! #edrecovery #eatingdisorderrecovery #recovery #anorexiarecovery #anorexia #eatingdisorder #edwarrior #ed #anarecovery #mentalhealth #eatittobeatit #edfighter #food #anorexianervosarecovery #prorecovery #recoverywin #mentalhealthawareness #selflove #ana #anorexiafighter #recoveryispossible #intuitiveeating #breakfast #healthyfood #recoveryisworthit #fitness #foodporn #bodypositive #strongnotskinny #smoothiebowl
Gathered Truths Podcast . One thing that I know for sure, is that change is certain. How we navigate that change, how we respond and interact with it, colors our life experience. If you are like me, you may label change as "good" or "bad", "necessary" or "painful". Maybe you like change. Perhaps you attempt to avoid it, ignore it and do your best to manipulate things so that it doesn't happen. Have you ever had the experience that the thing you so desperately wanted, you didn't get. And not getting it was the BEST thing that ever happened to you? What would happen if you embraced change or went with it? What if your lens changed so that you could more fully be present for the change that is inevitable. Join me for a chat & meditation around change and our relationship to it. Enjoy. Jen As always, I want to thank my husband, @mavriklab , who tirelessly & meticulously produces this podcast and to @joeseiders who created the music that is played. I get choked up each time I hear it. AND, if you feel so moved, would you leave a review and subscribe? Thank you and much love to you. (link in bio)
It’s said that change is the only constant in life, if you’re feeling low or things look dark, know that it is not permanent! 💜

c l e a n || Slate . I just returned from a two day silent retreat. No wifi, no books, no talking. (I did watch a video of Lucas jumping in to the pool. ❤️) . I truly enjoyed the solitude, the dharma talks and the simplicity of it all. . A few take aways: ✨I like to meditate outside. ✨I like to sometimes meditate with my eyes open. ✨I love the trees and the sound of the river. ✨I get pre-occupied with planning, planning and more planning. ✨My pre-occupations take me away from the present moment and all that *it* is and has to offer. ✨Meditation is a practice. There is no “right” way to do it. The only goal is to train the mind so as not to be a slave to thoughts that become obsessive or repetitive. . I would totally do it again. . xoxo Jen

I’ve not only had the privilege of hearing Linda Dillow speak on a few different occasions, and listened to her on podcasts, and read her books...but I have been led by her through a Bible study on the Psalms.⠀ ⠀ Linda’s speech (and writing) is laced with grace and truth inspired by God and His Word. ⠀ ⠀ I recommend this book for every woman, whether you think you deal with anxiety or not. Finding contentment in Christ is key to a better life, and she shows us what that looks like. ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ #YayasFavorites #FindContentment #AnxietyRelief #WomanOfGod #RecoveryIsPossible #HealthyChanges #ChangeForTheBetter #SeekJoy #DailyHope #ContentmentInChrist #FaithBloggers #WomenInTheWord
Abuse in childhood is not always physical or visible. Emotional neglect is an important but often overlooked form of adverse childhood experiences. Unlike physical neglect or abuse, where there are signs of assault such as bruises, emotional deprivation is difficult to identify as there are frequently no observable signs. More importantly, emotional neglect is generally unrecognized by the child until symptoms begin to appear in later life. Such emotional neglect could lead to complex problems in adulthood, including low self-esteem, perfectionism, and the irrationality of cognition, feeling, and communication. If you are one of many trauma survivors suffering the effects of emotional deprivation in childhood, click and follow the link in our bio to join a community of brave people learning how to re-parent themselves. #TraumaHistory #TraumaRecovery #reparent #emotionalneglect #BecauseWeAreWorthIt #ACEs #CPTSD #Hope #Recovery #Support #Anxiety #safespace #ComplexTraumaRecovery #Boundaries   #ComplexTrauma #AdverseChildhoodExp #Mindfulnes #SelfLove #Meditation  #GentleReminder #RecoveryIsPossible #FightTheStigma #NoMoreShame #YouAreEnough #YouAreNotAlone #TraumaSurvivor #CPTSDfoundation
