FriYAY🙆🏻♀️ “if you don’t glitter you don’t matter” Matt Perry 2014 #seawheeze2018
I had convinced myself I hated running.
For no good reason other than I never enjoyed it in PE class and the FL heat wasn’t conducive to it.
Then we moved to the PNW and I noticed that running was a way of life there. I decided to join a running group and told myself the worst that could happen is I meet some new friends and decide that running still isn’t for me.
Here’s what I found instead. A sport that brings a level of mental clarity that goes well beyond what I expected. A community that is encouraging, supportive, and inspiring. A group of people who are some of my closest friends still to this day. And events that carry an immense amount of positive energy.
Running isn’t about moving away from something. It’s all about moving closer to who we already are and gaining the mental clarity to know who that is. The bonus is the most amazing people who happen to be on the same journey.
What have you convinced yourself isn’t for you? I encourage you to rethink that and ask yourself if that assessment is based in truth. If not, give it one more shot. You may just find a new passion that was waiting for you all along 💞
Kicking off this account with one of my greatest accomplishments 🏃🏻♀️ For me, the hardest part of fitness is having pride in how far I’ve come. I am definitely one to compare myself to others, wishing I was as fit, as skilled, as fast, as strong, etc. as the next girl. But recently, I’ve realized the only person I need to focus on being “better than” is me. So here’s to sharing my journey of becoming more fit, skilled, fast, and strong than I was yesterday - and taking pride in the work I put in 🙇🏻♀️

Seawheeze 2019 half marathon again! In all honesty, the half marathon last year was life changing (🤣 no, but for real) and was one of the best race/events I’ve ever done. I had some serious FOMO going on before getting the news today. Hoping my husband & friends get the good news soon too - here we come VANCOUVERRRR!!
