Mesmerized by the greenery of forest wilderness! I had one of those moments where I had to stop and appreciate my surroundings.
"I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good, therefore, that I can do or any kindness I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it for I shall not pass this way again" ~ Stephen Grellet
As we’re gearing up to hit the road in a few days, I’m trying to anticipate how much snow is still blanketing the Sierra and how many backup plans we should have up our sleeves. Drawing from past years’ experiences, this much snow in late June doesn’t bode well for a lengthy backpacking season, but who says you can’t squeeze as much fun as possible out of the time you have!
“Life should be touched, not strangled. You’ve got to relax, let it happen at times, and at others move forward with it." -Ray Bradbury
Sun’s out tongue’s out!! Get outside and enjoy the gorgeous warm weather we’ve been having!

After seeing that the forecast for my overnight trip to LeConte tomorrow consists of rain, thunderstorms, strong winds, rain and more rain... I thought I would toss out a reminder to myself and all of you that rainy days truly are some of the most beautiful days in the mountains. 🍃💚🍃 (Alum Cave Trail on a previous rain filled trek to LeConte.)
I sometime pinch myself with how lucky I am to be so close to so many beautiful places.
