With wedding season upon us, I commonly get asked about teeth whitening so that brides and grooms can look their best on the big day 💒. At Smiletheory, we offer several whitening options suited for your needs.
First, it's important to understand why teeth stain. The most common reason is consumption of colored foods. People who drink a lot of tea 🍵, coffee ☕, and carbonated drinks 🥤 and eat colored foods tend to experience more staining than those who don’t. This is because the microscopic particles are left behind on the teeth as they get caught in the porous enamel surface of the teeth.
Other causes of teeth staining is improper brushing techniques. Even though you brush🦷 and floss twice a day, a lot of bacteria tend to get left behind on the teeth where the bristles of the toothbrush don’t reach, especially on the biting surfaces of back teeth and the tongue side of front teeth. Sometimes, certain medications also stain teeth.
What are your whitening options?
1️⃣Professional in-office teeth whitening.
In-office teeth whitening is the simplest option. We’re proud to be certified @korwhitening
providers. We screen your teeth to check for signs of cavities, gum recession, and restorations that could affect the whitening procedure. The whitening gel containing hydremide peroxide will be applied on the teeth, spread evenly and allowed to stay on them for a certain duration.
2️⃣ Take-home whitening trays.
This method of whitening involves the use of custom trays. We take molds of your teeth and use them to make customized trays that hold the whitening gel. You whiten at home, at your convenience.
3️⃣ Maintenance gels. Maybe you've whitened your teeth in the past and have whitening trays. Maintenance gels can be used to upkeep your whitening.
