Finally after failed attempt, failed attempt and failed attempt spread out from #squatober 2018 to May which is the last time I attempted it, I finally hit a 500lb squat and at 175lbs instead of 185 which I thought was where it’d be easiest, it’s in knee sleeves so during this #squatober I’m looking to get it raw with just sleeves. Either way I’m extremely happy to have crushed this goal that I set for myself. My main movement/lift with all my athletes is the split squat. I also pair it with a hamstring bridge+ floor press combo. And of course, a few quality sprints and force application sprint drills. I personally think splits squats are a non negotiable for all athletes. Do you guys think the squat or split squat should be the priority??? David has been working with me for just over 10 months now and has dropped over 15kg! . . Initially he wanted to build some strength and just feel generally better day to day. Tried split jerking for the first time post surgery and worked up to 105 lb doubles but form and technique need work!!! One week left with the bulk and then it’s time to cut weight. Yesterday's leg day went well. Top set of deads 93% (240) x 3 Top Squats. Kept them lighter, 180 Top front squats, 115 And some Quad extensions, hamstring curls and a bit of a booty burnout.
