*Happiness is often in the little things* • • Al lange tijd ben ik weg uit de Nederlandse cultuur en daardoor verander ik steeds meer. In Nederland skipte ik vaak een ontbijtje of maakte er snel eentje en at dit vervolgens snel op in de bus, de trein of achter mijn bureau op kantoor of bibliotheek. In het weekend keek ik er dan ook altijd naar uit als er de tijd was voor een uitgebreid(er) ontbijt. Hier in Australië, met een ‘no stress at all cultuur’ nemen ze overal net wat meer de tijd voor en is het ontbijt dé maaltijd van de dag. • • Nou hoef ik jou vast niet te vertellen dat ik daar wel aan kan wennen! Weekend of geen weekend ik heb hier wel geleerd om vaker de tijd te nemen voor het maken van een heerlijk uitgebreid(er) en gezond ontbijt. Should exercises are some of my favorites but they are also some of the most challenging. I have personally injured myself doing should exercises and hope that you don’t do the same. Keep reading for some basic tips in keeping your should workout safe yet challenging. 1. Keep your neck in a neutral position. Staying centered and stable in any weight lifting motion is crucial and will help reduce injuries. 2. Unless you are doing a Shoulder Shrug move, do your best to relax your shoulders; keep them down and away from the ears. 3. Slow down, going to fast could create momentum that can easily pop your shoulder out of socket or cause a tear; take your time! 4. Begin with light weights; especially if you’re a beginner; the shoulder muscles can burnout fast, at least for me🤣, so using a light weight allows me to stay centered, focused, and get in more reps with good form. 5. As with all weight lifting your core should be engaged and solid. This helps stability all over and gets you a mini workout. It’s been a rough afternoon. I’ve been battling a migraine for 3 days now. I got news I wasn’t thrilled to receive today regarding a job possibility that had seemingly fallen into my lap (therefore, that meant I was supposed to have this job right??
