I was still in a state of deep restlessness when reached the summit. Two hours of heavily interrupted sleep amidst the freezing cold (that crawled up my back the entire night), clearly did not compensate for absorbing the wrath of the path to the base camp — it was the first hike of my life, and i was everything but physically fit back then. I remember, prematurely concluding that the experience was not as worth it as one would expect. . . until, this hit me. The sun, in all its glory, rising through a magnificent sea of clouds some two thousand meters above sea level. A wonder that’s almost impossible to comprehend. The only pill i needed, as it turned out.
