Contudo, tal como ocorre, na vida cotidiana, deslizes também acontecem, é uma palavra mal colocada, aqui, o tom, acolá, e o clima desanda. Então, numa reunião de afetos, a harmonia não se dá pela ausência de conflito, mas, pela disponibilidade de elaboração das adversidades. E por que estou escrevendo sobre isto, com uma imagem de Martin Seligman @martin.seligman e Mandy Seligman anexa? Por que sempre que deslizo afetivamente, com alguma manifestação mal humorada, de impaciência, intolerância... lembro-me de @martin.seligman contando sobre uma das fontes inspiracionais da sua teoria, no livro Florescer: uma nova compreensão sobre a natureza da felicidade e do bem estar. Ele conta um episódio ocorrido quando Nikki, uma das suas filhas estava com 05 anos de idade, ajudando-o no jardim. Ele afirma: "ᗩ psicologia positiva surgiu da repreensão de Nikki." Our culturally perverse notion that “doing, doing, doing” is the correct use of time, and that “doing nothing” is a complete waste of time, has indeed made us a sick society. • Our overwhelming desire to back off from this whirlwind of activity and take a break, isn’t crazy. It’s a direct summons from April to withdraw your attention from the outer worlds and reconnect with your soul. • Our life is not frittered away in meaningless and unexamined activity. We cake in with a purpose, and specific soul intentions that are being neglected. They’re now knocking at the door for our attention, reminding us that we have commitments to keep. • If you don’t need this call and begin to self examine, you may even enter a dark night of the soul, a time where nothing feels meaningful. • Listen to spirit and open your heart to its direction. Take lots of time to be alone, and get in touch with your soul. Write a journal, seek meditate and sing. • Allow yourself to be in direct contact with the guiding wisdom of spirit on a daily basis. Withdrawing from the world, whether through contemplation, meditation or even a sabbatical, is the most powerful way to use your time right now. • Spirit is guiding you in your quiet moments. It’s message: “Make time for yourself.” 🌟
When we set an intention, we are becoming conscious about how we would like to feel. It is different to a goal as goals tend to have a clear finish line, where as an intention connects us to a feeling we would like to focus on or experience. For example - You might go to the gym because you have a goal to lose weight or get big muscles. You may also have a certain number attached to this. You could, however, look at your goal in another way. Rather than just focusing on the actual number itself, you could set a more expansive intention around feeling healthier/confident/stronger or to prioritise your time doing more of what makes you feel good. Going to the gym then becomes something your choosing to do because it’s supporting your intentions. Setting an intention can also give you a true north to focus on when making decisions. A few years ago I met my youngest sister in Europe for a month while she was travelling the world. We moved around each location by train travelling from London, to parts of France and then Italy. We decided to set a clear intention at the start of the trip that when it came to making big decisions that we would always choose to go with ‘Ease’ By setting this intention, it made it easier for us to make decisions and kept us on track if a situation started to feel stressful or messy. This didn’t always mean always going with the cheapest option, but if meant choosing between paying a driver to get us to a location within an hour or catching 3 different modes of public transport while lugging around our heavy bag, it was a no brainer! We chose ease. Energy flows where your intention goes.
