I’ve been working on my dessert ecookbook a lot lately, because I really want to share it in January 2020! This has been such an exciting process and a huge step for me. I can’t think of a better way to start the new year 🥳. . Yesterday I made several different energy ball recipes from the ecookbook, making sure all the measurements were perfected and taking additional pictures. Fortunately I had a lot of taste testers at our house! . I made these Gingerbread Energy Balls and they were such a hit with the kids and adults. As much as I love the gingerbread cookies I posted last week, these #paleo energy balls can be made so much more quickly and have the same sweet gingerbread flavor. Total win! . Most of the group liked more ginger (1 1/2 tsp), whereas hubby and I preferred just 1 tsp of ginger (we’re not big ginger fans), so it’s totally up to you! . ⁣ A two ingredient dessert that my kids make themselves. No lies. These 🍓 PUFF PASTRY JAM STRAWS 🍒use @bonnemaman_ca jam (our fav!) and not only are they super yummy, they are clearly easy to make too.⁣ ⁣ We attended the 🎅 Bonne Maman Holiday Event 🎄 a few weeks ago and it was jamming (sorry, I had to). Easy week of dinners at our house! After this weekend I think the holiday season is officially in full swing, so I’m trying to keep dinners simple 😊 The best part of this week’s dinner plan is Benjamin will be able to eat every dinner just cut up in to smaller bites or deconstructed a bit. These granola yogurt cups are soooo good! Crusty and chewy with icelatic style yogurt + fruits + almond slices. Daniel was so interested in the crust especially and had two before I could even put toppings on. My husband ate three! What #rafamamam today Breakfast cheese omelette with chicken powder Lunch & dinner chicken egg drop soup + sumo rice Tea steamed tofu. Wanted to add fruit puree to this but he ate it happily so yeah senang keje mom Spoon feed or self feed is just methods we introduce to our babies. I use both but most of the time I will spoon feed him coz I dont wanna trouble myself cleaning up after every session 🤣 The only day I allow him to #blw is when Baba is around and we are going to stay at home the whole day. But that also depends whether I have the will to cook other than porridge Worry not, your children will learn at their own pace. We, as mothers just need to encourage them. I will usually let him feed himself during snack time coz when I feed him, he'll eat more. So win-win situation. Easy like Sunday morning - Duplo and chickpea crepes with banana and chocolate nut butter. These easy, vegan chickpea flour crepes are rocking my world. They amazing for breakfast or for supper. The other night we had them with roast butternut, hummus, avo and sundried tomato and they were a hit with everyone. I just thought I'd share in case, like me, you are feeling totally uninspired about healthy, easy, plant based meals that your kids will actually eat 😄
MUFFIN TRAY LUNCH! It’s that time of year.... the kids are tired, I’m tired and it seems they are constantly hungry. After a morning of swimming I made a muffin tray for each of them and put the TV on. This is my 5.5yr old’s tray........ Olives, raspberries, sweet potato, carrot sticks, cucumber sticks, black grapes, cheese and crackers, cashews, cherry tomatoes, corn on the cob. He ate everything except the sweet potato and olives today. He hasn’t eaten sweet potato for quite a while actually. Just a note about CHOKING - my 5.5yr old swallowed one of these grape halves whole - thank goodness they were cut lengthways. Even though he’s older and past the high risk age, it served as a good reminder that ANY age can choke and to keep cutting them! And I might start cutting the cherry tomatoes again too.
