If it were easy everyone would do it. I have learned so many things during my health and wellness journey, but one thing I have learned over and over again is that I can do hard things. What I do isn’t easy for me, I may have days that are better than others, but I struggle mentally and physically each day in a different way.
The difference is that I don’t let it consume me. I find the silver lining in my workout and my nutrition so that even on the rough days, I know that I am showing up and trying my hardest to get and stay healthy.
We can chose to focus on the hard, which will most likely result in us quitting, or we can focus on the fact that we showed up, worked out hardest and gave it our all. We can be proud that even on the days when we couldn’t do all the moves or that we had to use lighter weights, we did the hard thing anyway!
Ladies - two months ago I couldn’t move my left arm - AT ALL - and I was in the worst pain of my life in that shoulder, and today I’m holding my full body weight on my shoulders while frog sliding my lower body! That progress didn’t happen overnight, and I’m still not as strong as I was a year ago, but the only way I’ll get back to that place is if I face the hard and put in the work!
What motivates you to push through the hard to get to your goals?
Have a Beautiful Day! ☀️ #backtobasics #whereitallbegan #fitfuture #letsshinetogether #startsomethingnew #settheworldonfire
Where it all began.... who knew that going on a beekeeper taster day many years ago, set a motion of changed fortunes, different directions, a whole load of excitement and a few stings too?! -
I was working as a Retail Director at the time and decided to go on a basic beekeeping course because
we had a sizeable piece of land and it seemed like a “nice thing to do”. The bees fascinated me and I was hooked! -
The lure of being outside in a rural landscape rather than in the city was too much so I turned my back on the large salary, company car, benefits package and went from hobby beekeeper to aspiring beefarmer/entrepreneur. -
With a steady production of honey and beeswax, it didn’t take long to realise that I could make a ton of honey go so much further than just selling it as 1lb jars and so the birth of my skincare/formulator journey began. -
Alongside my bee-farming, I retrained/studied/qualified as a cosmetic formulator and launched my first skincare brand using my very own formulas and based around the honey & beeswax from our own hives. This is now an award winning business with many international product awards over the years and continues to grow. -
So why launch Purdey & Sloane and what’s different? Well spending as much time outdoors as possible, takes its toll on skin. I’m an avid lady gun (game & clays when I get the time) and so it made sense to develop a brand new skincare range specifically for people like you and me. I’m passionate about the English countryside and I wanted this to be reflected in our products by using British oils from British farmers. Purdey & Sloane is a luxury skincare brand that delivers plant actives direct to the skin and gets results! -
So, that’s my story... Who knew?! If you’d told me then what I am doing now, I wouldn’t have believed you!! We all have a story, so what’s yours?
I’ve been really trying to make an effort at capturing just mom and dad in a photo. Sometimes we get lost in the business that is our kids and family. It’s ok to stop for a moment and remember where it all began, those feelings we had and still have for one another. Love these two! #family #love #whereitallbegan #makingmemories
