Hello, World! This is my setup currently for starting to learn web development in 2019. It's not the greatest setup, but that is exactly why I made this post!
It's important to remember that everyone has a starting point in doing something they love. I'm sure it's enchanting yet to disheartening to see these dev setup with the curved screens, the latest MacBooks, and RGB Keyboards galore and think to yourself that you can't become a developer because you don't have the exact same tech that they have, so it must be impossible to start right?
My laptop is a 2012 Samsung Chromebook with 2gb RAM and 8gb storage out the box that I manually set to developer mode.
Sounds nasty, I know. But after searching on the internet I found out how to swap internal storage for an extra 2gb RAM, so now I have 4gb RAM in total and I'll take it over nothing. And for storage I use a 32gb USB where I keep my code projects and files.
For this instagram, I take pictures on a LG G6 I got as a gift. It takes clean pictures and is perfect for a starting point.
I still someday want a MacBook setup and a DSLR Camera to make these post a little bit more professional. But it proves the point that $1000 setup or not, it shouldn't stop you from ever doing what you love to do.
So go do it silly!
