Meet Shailene Woodley (@shailenewoodley ), an actor and activist who recently spent a week on the Sargasso Sea learning about the effects of microplastics on our oceans.⁣⁣ ⁣ “The thing that struck me the most is how each one of our decisions, no matter where we live in this world, affects every other human being and every other creature on this planet. Being thousands of miles away from any continent, and seeing the effects of human recklessness and ignorance inflicted upon the ocean was mesmerizing to me,” she says. “It took my breath away with how truly connected we all are and how easy it is to lose sight of that. We can all find a little more space for kindness and generosity with one another, because the minute we hold space for that, the minute we are able to care more about things like our oceans and seas.”⁣ ⁣ In honor of #WorldWaterWeek , learn more about Shailene’s advocacy work, the ocean and the ways you can help make a difference in this week’s episode of #Advocates , on our Stories and IGTV. 🌈🌊⁣ ⁣ Photo of @shailenewoodley by @emoryhall

“We want young LGBTQ+ people to know that they are worthy of life and love,” explain Dominic and Nick Spence (@dom_and_nick ), who live (and love) in NYC. “It is our hope that more LGBTQ+ youth will know that they have just as much to offer the world as anyone else.”⁣ ⁣ “It is important for us as two black gay men to see the intersections of our struggles championed by the broader LGBTQ+ movement. By elevating the stories of marginalized queer people, you create more possibility models for young LGBTQ+ who can see the contributions of people with whom they identify.”⁣ ⁣ In our stories of #UntoldPride , we shine a spotlight on LGBTQ+ people who are making a difference just by being themselves. 🌈⁣ ⁣ Photo of @dom_and_nick by @zaharova_photo

The dwarf miniature horse is just one of 20 rescue horses at R&R Ranch (@randrranchminis ) in Wildwood, Missouri. 🐴✨⁣ ⁣ The ranch conducts public tours twice a month to show the reality of owning a mini horse, which can be complicated because of their unique health needs. “If we can educate people about what it takes to care for these horses, it’s a win-win situation,” says ranch co-founder Stacy Rolfe.⁣ ⁣ Today on our weekly series, #YouGotThis , get motivated to move past negativity, just like sweet Martha.⁣ ⁣ Video by @randrranchminis
Maahy Muhsin’s (@maahyart ) complex illustrations are inspired by an obsession with nature’s micro-patterns. “I strive to perfect my details as a means of losing myself in the artwork and meditating in the process,” says Maahy, who is an architect and artist.⁣ ⁣ “When you have a hundred lines creating tiny pockets for you to be creative, your mind explodes with possibilities.”⁣ ⁣ Photo by @maahyart
