I spent some time during my teens and early adulthood not exactly enjoying winter….to put it nicely. I grumbled about cold toes, wet socks, slipping on the ice and so on.
Then one day I realized I was all grown up. I was making decisions about what to eat, when to go to bed, how to dress, what to do with my life...oh yeah, and WHERE to live. My husband and I talked circles about where to live.
We researched weather, cost of living, need for teachers, teachers pay vs. cost of living, crime, you name it.
We talked Arizona, South Carolina, Georgia, Puerto Rico, Cambodia, Italy. We traveled, “tried on” different places but never moved.
Finally, I realized this is WHERE I want to be. #Ohio
has ice storms, bursts of 3-6 inches of snow, fall foliage, hot summers, a Great Lake, golden wheat fields, grandparents, cousins, and friends.
So now there’s a lot less grumbling about weather and a lot more appreciation for icicles hanging from trees, warm houses, steaming mugs of hot cocoa, and playing in the snow. I’ve decided to #LoveWhereILive
and I do.
