This is what @marcadamsschoolofwoodworking classroom looks like before chips start to fly! Watch out Indiana! Woodcarvers rule!! Starting bright and early tomorrow morning.
Had a lot of fun last week with @tessaaablakeee. She spent several days photographing and interviewing me for an Air Force photojournalism class project. Here's one of the creative photos she took. Just call me bobble head!!
May not be the most exciting carving design, but I just made a video for my Online Carving School on how to carve Rope Moulding. Should be available in July. Happy Carving everyone and Happy Friday!
There's a rat in the kitchen what am I gonna do?
Watch out London! Come join us on a 10 day tour of amazing Grinling Gibbons woodcarvings! May, 2020. The fabulous Grinling Gibbons carved this for the Petworth House in England, and this will be one of the tours we will be going on. We will be basing our stay in London where we will be taking day tours to see various places where his work is displayed (Windsor Castle, St. Paul's Church, St. James Piccadilly, among others). Please message me or email me (in profile) if you want to get more information and a full schedule of the tour. I will need a minimum of 15 confirmed people by the end of the week to make sure this trip actually happens. It's going to be a blast!! 🤩🤩
Micro-Acanthus. I see them. Everywhere. @lostartpress Carving the Acanthus Leaf book
Isn't it wonderful to see the subtle different personalities in the greenmen? Just finished a great 3-day beginning class at Roy Underhill's The Woodwright's School. Amazing group of people and such a fun weekend. @feralfemmeart
Such a fun class on carving the Greenman at Roy Underhill's The Woodwright's School in NC. Scroll through to see the Roy is true form.
The Roy Underhill Greenman taking an afternoon nap. Looking quite sinister...
Excited to be on my way to Pittsboro, NC to teach how to carve the Greenman at Roy Underhill's school, The Woodwright's School. Had to stop for a selfie at South of the Border (aka bathroom break). A nice tacky tourist destination that was the bomb in the 80s from what I hear. Arcades, gift shops, mini-golf, restaurants, large plastic Pedros to pose in front of, and more mini-golf. Now it's like a ghost town, but still here! And still good ol' Americana tacky!
Slightly wind-blown and weathered. 19 years ago today, my soul mate and I promised that we would love and cherish each other no matter what life throws at us. It has been an amazing 19 years and I adore you more than ever, Stephen. Thanks for being my help-mate, cheer-leader and best friend.
