- So as you all probably know this week is Mental Health Awareness Week and I don’t think I could find a more fitting time to put this post out there.
Now I’m a strong dude, I like to look at things differently to most people, I’m always trying to move forward with my life, do things that are positive and generally get out there and enjoy life but I’m human and since breaking my hand it’s been rough.
Normally I can go about my business independently without help from anyone but now with only 2 fingers & a thumb I’ve had to swallow my pride and get help when I’ve needed it.
I’m not talking about anything major, in fact some of it was actually kinda fun (like showering 😂) but the fact is I’ve had to swallow my pride and ask which I’m not ashamed about but this last week or two has been a bit of a roller coaster of frustration and worry.
HOWEVER I’m glad to say that 90% of the time I can get ahold of myself, give myself a mental slap in the face and remember to focus on the positive and know that when this heals it’s gonna heal stronger than it was before just like when I first got injured and my will, my drive and my mindset got stronger.
So right now I’m focusing on celebrating the small wins. I just got my legs on by myself somehow which was a win, I’m still working which helps keep my mind occupied and I’m out and about enjoying the fresh air.
So remember that when things get tough take a bit of time, lift your head up, look around, focus on the good, celebrate the small stuff and know shits gonna work itself out in the end.
